So I think the big question is, "will Kansas be in 2D?" 'Cause I saw Tron Legacy in 3D, and would like to have seen the real-world scenes in 3D also. I don't think holding back on stereoscopic depth until the "special" part of the movie kicked in dramatic enough to justify wearing the glasses up 'til then.

I've already seen it in 3-D. It's called acid, people. Ask your local hippie about it.

    The Cowardly Lion shot first.

A few years ago, I went to a Halloween party where there were THREE slutty Dorothys. It was pretty much the highlight of my life.

Not looking forward to seeing the Munchkin actor that hanged himself in 3D.
As great as we BBS-ers are, that AV crowd is one seriously witty-ass bunch.

'Course, seeing as this is the blu era, they could always do both, and let folks at home pick.

... Dunno, I think it'd be a shame not to see the tornado in the 3D distance.

Maybe they could colorize those parts too?

I didn't grow up with this movie, not sure why, I think my mom didn't care for it for some reason. While I know the story elements from osmosis I've only seen bits and pieces of it over the years I'd be game to see it on the big screen like this.

What's the point of trying to convert a 70 year old movie into 3D? They can't even get the 3D conversion to work on the movies they're making right now.

2D Blu-ray is more than enough for me thanks.
