I approve of this desktop series ....
(and would like to see more)
My girlfriend borrowed my computer the other day, so this is the new wallpaper. Ariel Rebel was kicked out faster that she could say "bikini".
After seeing the trailer for TNG-HD, I had to make a desktop of the Enterprise-D:
Ha, I know how you feel. The way I use my comp and open programs, I wouldn't be able to have nothing on the desktop (one of the things I like about Win 7, it has more ways to open stuff. I'll probably upgrade eventually). But I keep as little on there as possible, and between it and the quick launch bar, I make sure I have easy access to everything I use frequently.
Well, they both are pretty sci-fi, really. The former is actually a fighter from an anime called Yukikaze; here is the pic from which I clipped my avatar: .
Though there certainly is a resemblance to the Berkut, now that you mention it.
The desktop wallpaper is an awesome ship design from one of the more talented 3D modelers at scifi-meshes.com. Sadly, I actually haven't seen anything from him in quite some time. Besides the ship in my wallpaper, he also did this insanely cool looking ship (which has also served as my wallpaper previously, and no doubt will do so again one of these days ).
That's a pretty good shot of the D, but my goodness that's a lot of icons, I would go insane.
Awesome! I'd stare longer, but my OCD is forcing me to try and re-arrange your icons and I can't!
I have roughly the same desktop, but mines only 1280, how did you get such a large image?
Slightly NSFW form the Playboy Tron babes photoshoot, a lady covered in bodypaint...
Another Conan. A classic, this time.
Actually, I just took a screencap of the video and copied the stars several times to fill up the screen.
Oh, there will be more Gotta love Tumblr.
Cool wallpaper! It looks awfully familiar; where'd you get it from?
Testing Ubuntu 11.10 beta. I will maybe be the only one but I love Unity :
Nah, I think it's a nifty idea, too. Very stylish. I plan to install it on my new computer sometime in the autumn (I haven't even baought the computer, yet).
^ You two are such a bunch of nerds. <3
It reminds me of the computer game Escape Velocity Nova, though I'm pretty sure the concept of an artificial ring around the earth didn't originate with the game
Stylish? Perhaps. Efficient and practical? Not in the slightest.
I can understand but Unity looks a lot like my old Gnome desktop, I don't really see the difference except that I had the panel (hidden most of the time) at the bottom :
Please someone kill me if I become efficient and practical
I played with KDE last week, I didn't like it. I miss KDE 3.5.
