Took, what? An entire 15 minutes to put that cover together?

It's a nice shot of the ship but just feels too basic, IMHO.

Suffering some serious Bacco overload here.

With a title like The Crimson Shadow, I'm expecting this to be a pulpy origin story for a Cardassian costumed crimefighter... ;)

I sense that the end of the Bacco Administration is near...

I'm definitely can't wait to get The Crimson shadow. David R.George got to read Una's book and said it was really good that fans of Ds9 will really like this book and Garak's story especially something to look forward to finding out how the Cardassians are plotting and conniving for return of the old political regime.

The cover is very simple but i don't mind it as long the book is good.
I hope that Garak has a big role, maybe with a guest appearance of Bashir?
Even if its just halve a page.
I can't wait for it, I only hope that i'm finishing the Vanguard series in time.

    What a generic cover.

Still going to pick up the e-book though.

I like the cover. It's a beautiful shot of a descending Enterprise against a flame-filled starfield.

The synopsis sounds great, but the cover is kind of mediocre. I wonder if the group plotting against the Federation/Cardassian alliance is the True Way?

Book looks good, cover looks bland and generic and able to be inter-changed with 20 others. :S

Very dull, bland cover, especially coming after the cover for Revelation and Dust. Not what I'd expect for a novel with such a great premise from a well established and popular author.

I liked McCormack's Brinksmanship quite a bit. It's one of my favorite Typhon Pact novels so I'm looking forward to Crimson Shadow. I'm not a big fan of Bacco but I think McCormack handles politics deftly and I got confidence that she'll do so again with this book. This is the newest novel I'm looking forward to the most.

Looking forward to the books, but what's up with some of the covers lately? Very bland.

I can't wait to start reading A Choice of Futures, but the image of a bored Archer isn't very interesting.

Don't let the cover deter you. It's a fantastic book :techman:

Regarding the title, I'm not sure if everyone remembers this but it's another classic Cardassian literature reference, like Una's previous book The Never-Ending Sacrifice.

Meditations on a Crimson Shadow was another book that Garak recommended to Bashir as a classic. I'd say it's much more likely the title is a reference to that than to human noir thrillers. Although I guess it could be both.

But yeah, the cover's dull. Maybe it's a theme, with each series' principal hardware on each book's cover. But then wasn't one of them 'no particular series' ? And didn't we already do that with the first four Typhon Pact books?

I'm really looking forward to this book. 'The Neverending Sacrifice' was one of my favorite books, so it'll be great to have another story about Cardassians. Garak and Picard together sounds like a really fun combination.

I have to agree on the cover though. I know books in general are going towards more simplistic covers rather than illustrative ones, but this could be the cover to almost any star trek book.
