They simply nailed Christopher Reeve's facial expression.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

EDIT: If that's a Batman Returns Batman they messed up the Bat-symbol. The one on the fig is from the first movie.

These are probably prototypes, so hopefully they will correct that later on.

They do look great, but I am still bitter about the switch to 4" scale.

In other news, it looks like the four figures that were shown for the cancelled 2014 DC Universe sub: 90s Aquaman, Ice, Superboy, and Damian Wayne will still be coming as quarterly releases throu Matty Collector. Containment Suit Doomsday will be the 2014 SDCC exclusive. I'm very glad they we'll at least be able to end the line with a few really great fan-demanded characters.

That's not a bad Michael Keaton head and face sculpt. It's not perfectly spot-on, but it captures 1989-92 Michael pretty well and you know without a doubt that it's the face of Keaton's Bruce Wayne.

That's not the best Christoper Reeve Superman I've ever seen made into a plastic toy, but it's pretty close. The "S" on his chest isn't quite right (the Reeve costume didn't have raised edges on the big "S", so it would have been better for this figure's symbol to be perfectly flat and blend into the rest of his torso) but other than that he looks great.

Batman 89. Batman Returns costume had more segmented armored abs.

Well, when Hot Toys tackles something, no other company can really compare.

Yeah, aside from the raised edges on his "S" that Superman figure looks amazing. The only other Chris Reeve figure I've seen that surpasses this one is a 12" or even taller version based on the original 1978 film. He came in a tall window box commemorating the original Reeve movie and might have been released for the silver anniversary in 2003.

    Dang.

I guess I didn't. Unless I saw it at some point and have just plain forgotten since.

    In other news:

So there's that. If we want to see Vintage return anytime in the foreseeable future we have to complain to Lucasfilm, not Hasbro.

Maybe it's just because I'm an opener, but I don't see what the big deal is. The quality of the Black Series figures are exactly the same as the Vintage collection. Bad adhesive aside, I really don't see what people have to complain about.

I don't have a problem at all with a return to 5-point articulation for 3.75-inch figures, but there really should be more for larger figures. The Jedi Temple Archives article expressed a fear that larger figures will someday have 5-point as well, but I can't see that happening short of some worldwide plastics shortage.

Actually just candy corn. The pumpkins are going on cupcakes later. If Clint doesn't eat them first...
