Maybe she'll get to take her helmet off in the next film and we'll actually get to see the face behind the armor.

She'd have been given more character development that way. ;)

Maul actually got to show his stuff in TPM, unlike Boba or Phasma in their onscreen appearances to date.

Boba gets teased because he (allegedly) died screaming and falling into a giant sand vagina, but he still got more to do than most other secondary Star Wars characters. Heck, his 10-year-old self in Episode II got more to do than most background characters.

Yeah that was a disappointment, although after watching the movie a third time I didn't really find myself bothered by it anymore. She may have been hyped up beforehand as this badass villain, but within the movie itself she was never more than some anonymous troop commander who bosses Finn around early on. And so it no longer seems like that big a deal when she gets captured and forced to help the rebels later on.

Kylo Ren and General Hux were the only First Order characters that got a lot of dialogue to begin with if you don't count Finn, and he defects at the beginning of the film and is no longer affiliated with the bad guys. Phasma may have had a bigger role before the film was edited for release and she could have had scenes left on the cutting room floor.

But what he didn't get to do was be as badass as he looked, even for a little bit.

Eh, a lot of characters in sci-fi and fantasy probably don't deserve the reputations they have. Boba's cool enough. He doesn't have to be any more than what the creators and authors have allowed him to become over the decades. ;)

For all the action figures he sold, he deserved better than the silly end that he got.

Yeah, I can't argue with that. He's one of the most popular action figures in history, yet you wouldn't know he was so popular based on his demise and how it was written and filmed.

Its quite possible he got his jet pack working after Luke and company left. The sarlac supposedly took a long time to digest living matter so I would assume Boba's armor protected him for those few precious minutes and once he got his pack working he flew out. Its possible.
