Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII Over thirty-five years later, those 13 seconds still fill me with excitement. Part of it is because everything but the lasers seems to be real. Part of it is that I care so much about the characters. Part of it is the fun, zippy tone. Part of it is just how exciting that they want the doors closed and then immediately opened. Part of it is that this is really high-spirited adventure that holds up, especially when compared to today's super-cynical times. I hope the new films have a similar feel. I think my favorite scene in Star Wars from when I was a kid is in that section of the film, and it's the moment where Han is chasing storm-troopers while screaming like a maniac. Even ata very young age when I saw it, I remember laughing. A lot. And realizing that this movie is so fun to watch, so fun to get involved in, and made me feel like I could just kick back and enjoy everything about it.
