I'm more a fan of the free crafting schematics we get during the mission.

Maybe I should wait a day or two for better server response?

ah the schematics. might have a go with them see what I can do. Not done the crafting thing yet. Is it worth doing on the rear admiral level?. I'm on RA5.

Just done the new mission, damn that was good! :)

I knew there was a reason I took emergency power to Engines with me.

Definitely, as crafting can yield very rare weapons, equipment and the Aegis sets.

That said, if you weren't collecting the data samples from when you started the game, you could find yourself in for a grind. I finally managed to get one of my alts levelled up to the point he can craft the highest level items, but it did take me a while to get there.

The mission kind of begs the following question...

...how'd they get a Mogai inside the place?

    Transporters, maybe?

Going into the micro nebula was cool.

I really enjoyed The Vault. It was an excellent beginning to what's bound to be an awesome series. I'd love it if the Vault were accessible all the time.

Was it a mistake or the best thing (well almost) ever to introduce voiceovers for T'Nae and the Reman?
They have done it before on occasion with the EMH in the tutorial, Spock, the Guardian and Leeta.
But here it felt different. It felt natural and out of place at the same time.
The moment the next textbox without a voiceover popped up I felt somethin was missing.
They really should invest in regular voice work for all new and remastered missions.

    Story immersion²!!!!

The problem with voicing everything is, it makes the content take much longer to produce, and this game's most serious problem is the content shortage.

The Reman was great, but T'Nae sounded like she was voiced by a computer. She's a Vulcan, sure, but they're not that lifeless sounding.

Just completed 'The Vault' with my Klingon Commander - and therefore in the under-armed, tinfoil-armoured Toron shuttle! ;)

Pretty hairy near the end, particularly that blasted Mogai, but totally worth it. Another really great Featured Episode - looks to be as fun and as Trek-y as the brilliant Devidian missions.

Can't wait to try it with my Federation shuttles soon, particularly to experience the Vault interior again! Wow - reminded me of V'Ger, the Borg Cube and the mothership from 'Independence Day' all at once! I've taken a load of screenshots, which I'll post in the appropriate thread. No major spoilers - granted, it'll give an idea of what to expect, but nothing really prepares you for the size of the place... :cardie:

The trick to the Mogai is... killing it is not a victory condition...

Of course this solution probably doesn't occur to you Klingons. :)

I just went to full impulse and shot towards the opening, where I had previously destroyed the door-locking mechanism before being blown up by the damn Mogai.

Another thing; that new Shuttle phaser and Torpedo scale, and will work on the other shuttle-class ships. So even if you're going to use a Runabout, get your Shuttle first and take a look at the awesome gear on it.

Runabouts are more durable than shuttles, correct? Because there were times when I was wondering whether I should have bought the runabout.

And why is the shuttle counting as a whole starship?

Same here - even when I'm playing as my Klingon, I'm a Starfleet man deep down. There's nothing 'honourable' about getting needlessly killed - running away is a perfectly legitimate strategy! :D

Trouble is, when you've got a ton of Scorpion fighters chipping away at your aft shields, you're held in a tractor beam, your shuttle has the defensive capabilites of a cardboard box and there's a Mogai hurling torpedoes at your exposed behind, there's not a lot that can help you, strategy or no!

I'm looking forward to having a crack at it in my new Delta Flyer - should give me an edge both defensively and offensively. On the fence about the Runabout for my other Fed - while it's a more solid ship, the idea of doing it 'by the book' in the shuttle sounds like fun. Thankfully, my Starfleet officers have a wider variety of powers along the lines of 'stealth' and 'speed', so it should even the fight next time around...

Meh, screw "by the book". Do it with the Flyer! :D
