I have a small problem.
I made a Klingon Engineer back during the Anniversary event and got him one of the Bortas packs.
I haven't touched him since. I'm going to have Miikka focus on some Diplo DOffs for a while so I thought I'd try him out in the meantime. Well it turns out I don't really care for Engineering, especially ground combat. It's just building stuff. I like shooting!
I could reroll him as a TAC, but then I'd lose the Borta (which I really want to keep) and from what I was able to gather on the forums, this game isn't real big on GM rare item swapping.
Patience. They will eventually be in the C-Store. That's your only option.
Also, check your other Kit options. There are a few kits that debuff targets and buff yourself and allies instead of dropping turrets and generators.

STO's future is really looking bright right now.
It looks difficult but it's not. I did it in one shot with a LC2 in the Danube shuttle. Kill the Work Bees and ignore everything else. The Work Bees appear after you disable the first (Alpha) and then every couple after that.
You really should not be threatened by the other ships (as long as you didn't remove your shield or anything like that...) If you want a little extra security, drop a turret in the middle. It's agro will cause the ships to target it leaving you to do your thing.
You could suggest to Cryptic that they sell an item in the Cstore that would allows you to Un-bind items. They should sell like hotcakes no matter how expensive. I just saw another game started selling something that functions similar in nature.
Of coures ships in STO have never been transferrable. Which is a shame because most ships below RA are only used for a short time.
What are you trying to accomplish with your character? Most Tac characters can't tolerate the slow turning radius on the cruisers. (Engineers use Beams and Turrets) Perhaps the Siege Destroyer is what you're looking far.

Own starbase for the fleet(s), that is something to look forward to. That can be very useful for fleet parties and so on. I hope they include somesort of PvP area inside, so we can have hand-to-hand combat tournaments.
I have been playing quite a lot recently, despite the lag I am getting already often enough.
My engineering toon Zalarza was promoted to Rear-Admiral yesterday and I have now a Star Cruiser. I currently trying to gather some dilithium to get some new consoles and weapons for her. I am try to get my shields as good as possible.
I also created couple of new toons, a Caitian tactical and a Bajoran engineer. I am not playing these, because I want to have some toons to play with as soon as my new comp arrives.
I am also planning to get some bridge packs from the C-store. I am planning to replace the escort bridge of my Fleet Escort with something else, most likely with one from the Miranda bridge pack. I also want a proper bridge for the Star Cruiser...perfectionist as I am.
My engineer has one of those golden Cardassian boxes, so maybe I will buy one of those master keys also.Though that will be the one and only I will get.
They were talking about fleet starbases quite a while back, but they never materilized. It would be good to have a dedicated fleet area. However, they shouildn't be free or available to just any fleet. There are currently a lot of 1 player fleets running around. (Person gathers 5 people, creates the fleet, then drops the unnecessary people)
A fleet should have a certain size to qualify for a starbase. I suggest 250 players (players not toons) If every current fleet has a starbase, there will be more starbases than stars in the galaxy.
Don't remember if I posed this question before, but I'm looking for a name for Jasmine's Vo'vuq Carrier. The ship is HUGH and deserving of an epic name. I want to include a word that means green such as Chartreuse, Emerald or Green. Then one of these words or something similar: Lady, Virperess, Wench, or Witch.
So, I'd have something like Chartreues Lady for example. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
One of the things I really want is a fleet Starbase and fleet based missions. I think it'd be really cool.
For an escort bridge I suggest the Belfast Bundle. It is expensive, but the other bridge packs are not worth it to spend any C-points on them.
For a Starcruiser use the Bridge of the Odyssey if you managed to pick one up on the anniversary.
250 Members for a fleetbase? No thanks. Then ZrekBBS will never have one.
But upgrades and extensions for bigger fleets are acceptable and a nice perk for the bigger fleets. Also isn't there a hatd cap if around 300 toons in fleets anyway atm?
So a requirement like that would pbly benefit a real small number of them.
There should be purchase restrictions that require a few active members to raise the necessary resources. Make it so expensive that a couple players will never be able to buy it (so EC is out of the question).
One idea would be successful Fleetaction and STF private runs that award the fleet X numbers of Starbase tokens to buy a standard base and later upgrades.
if we are building our own starbase we need to start planning what we want.
I propose the following
offices for the fleet leader and adjuncts
Tailor and vendor spots if we can add them
a briefing room or wardroom for meetings to discuss what we are doing for the fleet event
a bar or other club
a shipyard and sickbay for repairs if need be.
We should also get a shortlist of outer designs from the various station types they have in case we get to pick that as well.
then we need to pick a good location for the base.

If we were gonna try to encourage more fleet events and STF's we should make it somewhere in the Gamma Orianis Area.
Well with the que system in place location doesn't actually affect that since we can set up private instances anywhere.
So, i say we go with Timelord's idea.
