welcome :) I love civil arguments and loathe the uncivil kind. With the movies, I liked the very first one and Insurrection best. I deeply dislike Kirk and dare to say so openly (though never in the TOS forum - that'd border suicide at best and start a (very un-)civil war at worst :D)

I love TOS but have never liked Kirk much.

yes, same here. When I was a kid and TOS aired for the first time, all of us kids wanted to be Spock, Bones or Scotty, but nobody ever volunteered to be Kirk.
I deeply dislike his thoughtlessness and his never listening to advice. This way he got countless redshirts killed and endangered ship and crew in almost every single episode.
On the other hand, nobody is perfect. I wonder how many illegitimate kids of Riker might populate the Alpha and Beta quadrants...

Greetings. Enjoyed the BBS so far. Some good well mannered discussions take place on these boards. It is refreshing. See you...out there!

    hi there :)
I'm afraid there are a few not-so-well mannered discussions as well, every now and then, but lately there have been blessed few. In my experience it's impossible to completely avoid flames and quarrels on message boards, regardless of whether you moderate with a light hand or heavyhanded (as an old Admin saying goes: if you make it idiot-proof, someone will upgrade the idiot), but a respect for each other and a subconscious sticking to the Prime Directive might both be featuring in the comperatively peaceful discussions here.

Still, I'd consider it suicide to casually mention in the TOS forum that I think Kirk ought to have been fired after his third mission, the very latest. :D

    *beams aboard Trek BBS*

Hello, my name is Danny, and I just registered here.

I've been a Star Wars fan most of my life, but I recently picked up an interest in Star Trek. In fact, I finished watching all 11 movies in June, and I just finished watching The Animated Series today. My plan is to start The Original Series next. I know it's going to take quite a while to finish - I do have a job (not Federation-related, unfortunately), you know? :-)

I remember a lot of people in my elementary school were fans of Star Trek, but I never became interested in it until now. I guess it's never too late to become a Trekkie. xD

Hello posters of the board. Were just a couple of trek fans. The wifey used to be a member of this board a few years back and mentioned this place a few times. Decided to take a look around.

Yes, I have mentioned the TBBS a few times to my husband and he was interested. I am not as familiar with Trek as he is so we will generally be posting together. No need for individual IDs.

That has been problematic in the past.
