The video shows it still there on the ground but not sure if it's alive or not.

Poor baby!! :( That really should've justified landing to free him, instead of just gawking.

:( Poor snake. Quite a fighter though. It's a real shame it couldn't get to safety.

I don't think they is any place between Cairns and Port Moresby to land. For most of the flight they would be over the sea.

Ah, this took place between Monday and Friday, so I presume there were monkeys aboard the plane that the snake was trying to get in there to fight.

And I was torn, so here's the other obvious video:

The thread title is inaccurate. Not "snakes" on a plane. Just ONE snake on a plane.

That's an important point, ScotBot. Thanks for that.

In other, somewhat related news, I heard the director of the film passed away the other day...

    Sad...

Not the first snake to get in/on a plane in OZ. Early last year a pilot in a small twin engine made a quick landing after he noticed a snake in the cockpit with him. It wasn't content to remain in its spot and even slithered around his leg.

I don't know why everyone thinks this is so exciting.

I don't think it is exciting but I feel sorry for the snake. I like snakes.
