nice. Gatlinburg is not that far from where i live. did you see any bears at Cades Cove?
I posted in the other thread, recently purchased a few weeks ago about getting my wife a new wedding band. Well it arrived yesterday, it looks amazing. She was wearing just a solid white gold wedding band before, now she has this. I have been saving for this for a while.
Now with her engagement ring.
Nice! Full marks on the "husband" score, Tom!
..where it's mostly ham.
Here are a few of my more recent uploads (taken over the summer, but I have a huge backlog of photos):
Great photos, Mariner. I especially love the composition of the second one.
Impressive pics, Mariner. You really have an eye for this sort of thing.
So much ham.
But it's fun ham!
Thanks! At some point I'll try counting the hours I spent in the city taking pictures this summer ... but it's nice to know that I was able to get a few good shots out of the time and effort I put into it.
Should I go back there again, I shall remember to get you some Apple Pie Moonshine.
Thank you! Not bad for a little 2 MP camera, eh?
Nope, no bears this time. I did see a bear when we were traveling down from the Smokies, but my camera wasn't ready.
Just 2 MP? I need to stop complaining about my Android camera. That's impressive for such comparatively low resolution.
Not too shabby*!
* And by "not too shabby" I mean pretty damned good work.
To top it off, I had no flash, and in two of those shots, we were moving.
I've missed a few pages up in here. I'm loving the scenic pics various posters posed. Mariner I love how you make NYC just shine.
J I loved your pics too. It makes me think of the painted backdrops they used for Kendra Province of Bajor.
I did notice the motion blur at the bottom of the images. The thing is, though, the rest of the image is so captivating that the motion blur becomes more like the "out of focus" effect you sometimes get in photos (which lets you concentrate on the best part of the image). Either way, nicely done! Getting shots like that is a blast!
I've got some pics here, as I've been digging through my archive, and they're random, but I figured I'd toss them up anyway.
This was a bluegrass band playing in Pigeon Forge from 2013:
This was the place next to our hotel. Apparently, their work force is very small.
This picture was from 2008. It's the Woolum, KY post office, or was for many decades. I don't think it's used anymore. I know about it because some of my extended family ran this post office for many years.
A picture of our fireplace that we had in our old apartment back in 2008.
Always two there are... No more, no less.
This is me in 2009 (I'm the guy in the red shirt sipping on the Pepsi). I didn't realize how much weight I've lost until I saw this picture. At the time of this picture, I weighed about 270 lbs. I currently weigh 210. Alas, most of that weight appears to be from the hair loss.
I just love those. Congrats on the weight loss.
Whose birthday party is that?
It was my niece's 3rd birthday.
I just realized it was a Chuck. E. Cheese.
