Speaking of All-New and Uncanny X-Men as well, both of which I am enjoying btw (yes, I'm the one). It kind of kills the whole shared universe feel of collecting multiple titles when two titles (both by Bendis, btw) are telling completely different stories with the same group of characters.

    Bendis is a machine.

(He talks in his sleep. Records that, and hands it in.)

He can with enough Redbull write a couple years ahead of where he needs to be to be collecting his cheque from Marvel.

If he's handing everything in YEARS before they need to be, isn't it possible that stuff is a little out of sync after the editors have finished butchering his work?

Hunh. Did not see that one coming. Interesting. I stopped reading the Ultimate line years ago, but if they're removing Spidey from it it sounds infinitely less interesting.

i hope thats just a one off thing. Spider Man does not belong with the X-Men. 616 or Ultimate.

Oops, sorry. This have been where I saw it then.

As for all of the cancellations and writer changes, doesn't that stuff tend to happen around events like Original Sin?

^ Yep. They're apparently introducing five spin off titles after Original Sin concludes.

Miles joining the Originals is I'm guessing part of "Spider-Men 2". I'm guessing we'll find out more during the week.

Cancellations are usually sales related. But writer changes can be spurred on by events where they use the aftermath to have a softboot like what happened after Disassembled or AvsX, but usually that is line wide. But the problem is Moon Knight, Iron Patriot and Hulk were just launched a few months ago. MK and Hulk had very good sales and yet had their writers changed for unknown reasons and Iron Patriot probably had bad sales and got stealth cancelled.

Iron Man is just the writer claiming that he is going off to write another book, but usually if his book was a critical and sales success he'd probably be able to balance both. It's just a face saving move.

And just to weigh in from sub-oceanic left field, what part does Vladimir the sentient reality-eating bomb in Secret Avengers have in all this?

Avengers # 30: just when the "Original Sin" tie-in was going to get interesting and relevant to the larger story... they jump into an alternative future. Sigh.

Inhuman #2: did this book get horribly delayed by JoeMad or something? I feel like this should be coming out immediately after Infinity ended and not six months later.

Joe Madureira is one of these artists who has never heard of a deadline he didn't blow off. They are wasting Soule on this project. But the Inhumanity event has been a total joke since Fraction quit the book.

    Yup.

Powerless Johnny Storm met Peter Parker at their old Meeting place, the Statue of liberty in AmSpd #02... The hilarious problem however is that there's someone living in there that doesn't want them hanging out in her front yard, pressing their faces against the window trying to see her in her under wear... Or at least that's what Carol would be assuming when she turns the hose on them.

the delay with Inhuman had more to do with Fraction leaving the book, not Madureira.

@Mr. Light...you do realize that the future jump is part of Hickman's Illuminati fall out/disassembled tale right and still part of his planned Original Sin tie in?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I do, I'm just saying it's a bizarre narrative choice ;) It also begs the question, where does this prolonged time trip take place within the timing of the Original Sin primary story? I'm assuming that Cap abruptly remembering the mind wipe was a result of the Watcher's Eye thing. Didn't something happen at the end of OS#2 that shot knowledge everywhere or something?

I just think Hickman is really, really overdoing it with these alternate reality/future stories in the main Avengers book. "Avengers" should be the flagship book of the Marvel U but instead it's been constantly off in fake worlds for six months or more now.

BTW, for several months now I have not been able to figure out who is in charge of SHIELD right now. At the end of "Siege", Captain America was put in charge of SHIELD with Maria Hill as his second. But in the Hickman Era, he doesn't seem to be the top cop anymore the way he was in the Heroic Age. Did he step down or something? Is Maria Hill the number one now?

Cap seems to have lost his job after Fear Itself possibly because he allowed the Worthy to launch a successful attack on DC.

    1) The current delays have everything to do with Madureira. The first issue with Soule shipped at the beginning of April, the current one just this week.

    2) It wasn't Fraction leaving the book. It was editorial deciding that they wanted an entirely different take on Inhumans after he had already finished writing Inhumanity.

Daisy Johnson was acting director for a while but then there was an assassination scandal so now Maria Hill is the director. Guys, there's an entire book about SHIELD that you're not reading.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Hickman's not over doing it at all. The time jump probably has to do with the vanished Time Gem from the first New Avengers arc. I'm guessing you've not been reading New Avengers, because both books are starting to fold into one another now as they were always meant to do being companions of each other. I realize if you're not used to his narrative and storytelling style that it can be a bit jarring...but this is quite consistent with his payoffs. You're not seeing it now...but by the time we're done next May, you will.

Maria Hill has been called Director Hill in several books. Also what House of UIster stated about Fraction and "Inhuman" seems to be true. There was a creative disagreement over the direction of the book. It wasn't all Fraction. Also Soule just keeps seemingly blowing away both editorial departments with his pitches on stuff :)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

It wasn't Fraction's fault that editorial suddenly wanted a total direction change. He was pretty clear in his interviews what he was going to do and focus on the nature of being an Inhuman (versus that of being a mutant for example) from a social justice angle apparently. Editorial suddenly deciding after his 2 issues of Inhumanity had been written that they instead wanted something like GoT instead. That is completely editorial's problem.
