Great ending to a great show. More than once I felt an emotional connection to the scenes and the characters. Loose ends? I don't care. If they had tried to wrap everything is a pretty little bow it would have been cheap and weak. This was handled nothing short of perfectly..

    So say we all.

Can't wait to go back and rewatch some of season one :)

I guess he's saying 'this thread is for only positive reactions, put your negative ones in the general reaction thread or make your own.'

On the destruct button until the last minute!

Well, you don't have to. His thread title wasn't exactly misleading.

    I loved it, too.

I kindof dug the whole fuck-you-I'm-gonna-disappear nature of Kara's last scene. It was so much of a WHAAAA? moment that it was rather beautiful.

It was reminiscent of Baltar's reflection's on Head Six: it doesn't fucking matter if she's a chip in his head or if he's crazy. The real question is, is she an angel, or is she a demon?

And is Kara Thrace the one who lead them home?

Or is she the Harbinger of Death, the Herald of the Apocalypse?

Or are the two the one in the same? Is not going home, ultimately, living your life until you die? ("fight until you can't"?). Hence why it works beautifully with my own stupid theory that the whole damn show is about a woman dying of cancer.

Yeah, I have to say ... I really liked the ending.

And yes, I'm currently drunk, so don't judge my theory too much.

I truly feel that this series will be remembered for a long time . . .

Well, I liked the fact that she just disappeared - it was a surprise. I was torn between expecting her to blow her brains out off-camera in the middle of Lee's speech - just to remind us what series we were watching, after all, during this uplifting schmaltz - and the not-quite-certainty that they wouldn't pull that stunt again a few weeks after Dualla.

Yeah, I kept waiting for Hera to either find some old centurion skull or get mowed down by some lion or something.

Starbuck's disappearance was great because it was totally unexpected. (for me, anyway)

It was a pretty good ending to a pretty good show and didn't throw too many middle fingers at it's audience. There. happy?

I agree! Why can't she be both? Kara may be the harbinger of death, because it will all happen again. But, for now, she's an angel who has led the people to Earth-- and the characters we know will see peace, and the earth that we know in history books will begin. Beautiful ending!

Nothing wrong with being drunk if you can type reply as coherently as you just did.

Frakkin' awesome! I was satisfied, and was glad that the battle was dispatched quickly in order to focus on what I cared about -- saying good-bye to these characters.
  17. I enjoyed the episode quite a bit, but reading your thread title actually made me want to complain about some of the small irritations. I'm just saying.

Damn straight. I could have sworn I saw a post from someone bitching that never found out what the fifth button in the second control console to the right in CIC did.

All these folks bitching and complaining about minutiae are ignoring the emotional and thematic core of the story. They're like people who watch Hamlet and get fixated on how Hamlet escaped from the pirates instead of taking from it the beauty of a story about a man looking for purpose in his life.

Wasn't that the point of creating the internet? So that we could read each other's complaints? ;)

Wonderful finale. I'm having hard time coping with the thought that we'll never see these characters again. But the whole thing was beautiful. Loved it.
