I watched "Amok Time" - TOS followed immediately by "Bounty"- Enterprise- just for comparison of Ponn Farr Spock vs T'Pol

Probably the best episode of the whole series.

First non-appearance of the Romulans. In Balance of Terror, which takes place a little over 100 years after this episode, the Romulan cloaking device seems to be new technology to Spock, but apparently it wasn't quite so new after all. Maybe all of NX-01's log entries and sensor data from this incident were lost in a hard-drive crash.

Missed opportunity: having a crewmember named Stiles on NX-01.

I don't think I would enjoy the slapsticky Ferengi episodes so much without Shimerman as Quark. I can't picture anyone else in the role.

The whole premise is absurd! Worf is no more Klingon than any other citizen of the federation. It would be like the Chinese asking for the extradition of an American citizen based on his Chinese ancestry. Ridiculous!
