So I was scrolling through tumblr, and I found this

Somebody went a step further and made a meme out of this.

Checking Memory Alpha, this is indeed on the page. How could they remind us of this tragedy?

To the bigger question. Could the Doctor have used his Anti-proton scifi fix to make these three salamanders...

    humans?

I know most people aren't fans of kids on Star Trek. However in VOY case there should have been more, even a modest effort to set up that Voyager could potentially be a generational ship. We had Naomi Wildman, Icheb, the 3 other Borg children and a baby that mysteriously disappeared after it's intro episode but that is all. On TNG we saw kids besides Wesley in some episodes and they were harmless enough as background characters.

Was there enough room for a Mama Janeway and Papa Paris subplot?

I always wondered that as well. It fixed Janeway and Paris easy enough. What deadbeat parents just abandoning your kids on a deserted planet. They're gonna be angry when they grow up. ;)

Dang, R. Star, I think you just discovered the plot to a possible Voyager movie!

^ they can be united by Chakotay's "son". Make the baby half human, half cardassian like was originally planned in Basics Part 1, but changed in Basics part 2 to being Culluh's son. Have them lead a Kazon force in to the AQ to take revenge on their negligent parents.

I always wondered about the decision to leave them on that planet. How did they know they were developed enough to take care of themselves?

I also wonder if those three are enough of a stable genetic base to populate that planet. Maybe that could be the plot of a new series ;)

OH wow, has that bit in Memoryalpha always been there?? WOW.

These children are always just ignored as some weirdass glitch of warp 10 so seeing them listed in memoryalpha is big! And interesting they call them human.

I love this topic. I get to post this video again.

I don't think leaving them on that planet would have any long lasting effects on that world. Three beings are not enough to populate. And maybe all three of them were boys or all three of them were girls. Even if there was one of each and they could reproduce, they would have died off after a few generations from inbreeding.

the doctor was able to reactivate the human DNA left in Paris and Janeway right? so what if the babies didn't have any huma DNA in them at all, nothing to reactivate since they were born in that form

But maybe when you are hyper-evolved inbreeding is no longer a problem.

It would have been against the prime directive to remove them from their natural habitat.

Is the natural habitat of a hyper-evolved human some undeveloped planet in the Delta Quadrant? I doubt it.

It's "Space Seed" all over again. The Children arrive on Earth before Voyager, and take over the world.

I've seen some pretty good fanfic on fanfiction.net about this. And yeah, the kids were PISSED.

So was it a prime directive violation when they were evicted from Paris's penis and migrated into Janeway's fanny?

I think that the Maquis have proved that the Prime Directive deos not apply to humans.

Even Humans held tide by Cardassian Law.

    Also consider TNG Masterpiece Society.

That could have gone very dark very quickly if the Supermen closed their borders.

What I wouldn't give to have Kirsten Beyer bring the babes back in a book.

BUT WAIT!!! Apparently there will be something connected to a distress call that happened in Season 2 in the new VOY book and Threshold is from season 2!!!!!!!!!!!

Was there a distress call in Threshold? Even if there wasn't this could still be it.

The word distress appeared twice in season 2.

    Lifesigns.

    Basics Part 1.

For the all other uses of the word distress in all seven seasons...

Ah, come on! "Threshold" was just a nightmare Janeway had after eating too much of Neelix's food. Maybe he served Salamander Stew that day.

They should have mentioned her cousin Lycy Janeway instead.

Initiations was directed by Winrich Kolbe who used to be KM's boyfriend..

I'm thinking Kirsten Beyer has put this breadcrumb trail together and made a perfect pudding, she's just sitting there giggling over how we will piece it all together once the book comes out and see how the clues to this being ALL about the Threshold babies were there from the beginning.
