    Poor Scotty. :(

Losing is one thing, but that's a creaming.

Should we send him a condolence card of some type?

    Dear Scott,

Sorry to hear of your recent overwhelming failure. Just thought you should know it wasn't really about Archer, it was about how much your fans love you.

    Hope that helps,

Archer may have started off as a naive fool, but he seriously manned up in the last two seasons.

Picard's first actions as captain of the Enterprise were to run away from, then surrender to, the first alien he encountered. Then attempt to win him over with lively debate!:rommie:

(yes, he eventually grew a pair, too. But OMG "Farpoint" was awful)

For some reason, people who vote on www.startrek.com love Voyager. I think among casual fans "Voyager" is very popular because its definitely the kind of show you can dip into easily and get your fair share of boobs and action of the week.

Frankly the results of those polls are often a total joke, apparently the season finale of "Voyager" gave people the most closure. LOL WUT, way to not use your brains voters ;-)

Definitely Turnabout Intruder gave me the most closure. It confirmed that you could put a black woman on the bridge of a starship but women were still catty silly things who lived for the attention of men.

I don't think the results should be that surprising when you consider the source.

I've never spent much time on startrek.com, don't think I've ever posted there.

I started out there before coming here. I think I made about 1,000 posts before getting bored.

As previously mentioned in this thread, its ironically not the best place to start or take part in an intelligent Trek related conversation.

A quick analysis might be in order (though it could be subjective)

1.>Archer, by the time the show got good it had lost most of it's audiance.

2.>Picard, is considered to be more of a diplomat

3.>Kirk, has entered the public conscience

4.>Janeway, fairly recent. Might be on air at the moment

5.>Sisko, DSN is the black sheep of the family. And given it's more static location. Sisko didn't have as much opportunity in earlier season to demonstrate.

    Black Sheep?

Please tell me that that pun was unintended.

I've always said Janeway was the most like Kirk and I think their response to events demanding action were similar.

Well they both had a rather loose interpertation of the rules.

janeway didn't see it that way when she was talking about Kirk in Flashback.

She was civilized, and Kirk was not.

Half as fast, that's why your journey back is slower than it would take a Constitution Mk II Class.

It's really only between Kirk and Janeway, isn't it? I mean, Picard was basically a diplomat in a more settled era, Sisko was more like a mayor, and didn't really face continual tests of courage, and Archer is an incompetent nitwit who got his captaincy either through blatant nepotism, or by rigging a raffle in his favor.

But Kirk and Janeway found themselves in repeatedly dangerous situations facing the unknown. But I give the nod to Kirk-he only had Spock as an ace in the hole -Janeway had Tuvok, the Doctor, and later Seven as a collection of super-beings.
