Cromwell is an excellent suggestion (but I still like my Nick Nolte idea).

Anyone fancy doing some photoshops/concept art for some of the suggestions on the original site and other suggestions?

Yes, we need an American companions list. With an American actress using a horrid English accent as Peri.

Oh I liked the Nolte idea too. I just forgot to mention it.

Of course, Barrowman could play Captain Jack as a Brit!

    Thanks!

Not just any Brit, a Scotsman!

Now I'm going to have to look up clips of Barrowman talking in a Scots accent.

...And I just did. That's awesome. He'd be brilliant as Captain Jack like that!

Donald Sutherland could have been either an alternative Four back in the day or an alternative War Doctor.

Goldie Hawn comes to mind for Jo Grant. Maybe Teri Garr.

    Tatum O'Neal for Bonnie Langford?

    Laura Prepon for Amy?

    Amy Poehler for Donna?

Inviting your newfound companion into your outdoor toilet or a broken Coca Cola machine? The Doctor's life just became a lot more... complicated. If getting them to take your telephone seriously wasn't difficult enough. Somebody do it ASAP. Pronto. LOL. (don't forget the creepy look too)

I can already see it. Thomas Jefferson and Liz Ten travelling together in a space toilet. I am paying good money to see that. (10 bucks?)

And if this thing was to be real, it would obviously be Jennifer Lawrence playing the next Doctor. And Clara. And the Master. And the Daleks. And Handles. And Abraham Lincoln.

Why, of course Phoebe Cates for Peri.

    For the new companions --
    Rose - Hayden Panettiere

Martha - Jessica Lucas (yes, she's Canadian, but plenty of Canadians are cast in shows to play Americans. Plus...come on...she's one of the most beautiful women on the planet)

    Can't yet think of a Donna...any suggestions?

    Amy - Julie McNiven

Maybe Molly Shannon or (good Lord...) Kathy Griffin?

If we exclude Barrowman from reprising Jack, what about Rupert Everett as an English version?

I like Rupert Everett for Jack, yeah. And Rufus Sewell as The Master (the young one). Both can do great American accents. Or in Jack's case, keep Everett's accent like you suggested.

How about James Spader for the equivalent of the Simm Doctor?

Oooh, yeah he'd work too. I was sitting here thinking maybe Adrian Pasdar, but Spader would be great. Could see him sparring with Sam Rockwell.

Laura Prepon seems a bit old for Amy. How about Emma Stone? With Sam Huntington as Rory.

I'm partial to Julie McNiven for Amy because like Karen Gillan she's quite striking in the looks dept., but Emma Stone certainly has the spunk part of Amy down. And I've never heard of Sam Huntington but lord does he look like Arthur Darvill! Good spot.
