How about Galaxy Quest? No matter how many times I see it, I still find it so delightfully charming and upbeat.

Zathura cheers me up, despite being a sequel to a really bad film.

One of the best movies ever. If you haven't seen this, you are a philistine.

    Rio Bravo

Also one of the best movies ever.

Oh, yes! Very good suggestion. Sometimes I watch this when I'm feeling blue for a little bit of life-affirming cheer. It's great to watch it side-by-side with Gene Kelly's dance just to see how perfectly they've reproduced it.

This might be a bit 4-years-ago, but I find it impossible to watch any episode of Wonderfalls without a smile plastered across my face.

Watch Bridge to Terabithia. But, remember to eject the film when Ms. Edmunds drops Jess off at home (the film is inspirational before that point, and needlessly depressing after that point).

Amelie is a wonderful little movie, although the last time I saw it was with the woman who proceeded to dump me a couple of weeks later.

So, um, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, then? Jean Arthur's a cutie.
