the zero G bridge that I am going to incorporate into the point-singularity plasma drive it was already posted in there but thinking I should add this to bridge porn right.,?
This thread reminds me of the Miravi rendering of the Captain's Mate. to make this post on-topic, I liked one of the conceptual Voyager bridges where the captain's seat was in the center (of course) and the other stations were set on the walls to the left and right of it. The bridge was rectangular. Don't know where I can find an image. Sorry.
awesome. Seems I confused the bridge set with engineering. http://www.ottens.co.uk/forgottentrek/images/VOY/engine.gif Still, I think a rectangular bridge would be highly cool. Just put the captain's chair 1/4 of the way to the warp core, loose the warp core in favor of a viewscreen and it's good.
Re: Enterprise-D My favorite TNG bridge design. Awesome stuff. Is there anyone who will make a deck-by-deck of the Ent 1701-D sometime? We've got 2 or 3 awesome 1701's coming along...
^ There was a lad some time ago who was planning on doing just that. He was modelling in SketchUp if I recall correctly but I have no idea where the project went to...
very high end CG representations of the bridges! done in a mid range program - trueSpace done by Sean Robertson very cool! Bridges http://www.webolutionary.com/3d/trek_int.html and if you are interested he also has a General Star Trek renders such as the TOS communicator http://www.webolutionary.com/3d/trek_ext.html
Here is the unfinished bridge I made for my Aries gunboat a few years back - More images here: http://redspar.smugmug.com/Sci-Fi-3...-3d-Max-renders/6113908_HpCiC#384385154_S45We
Redspar, that is so cool! I just realized that the control panel side looks like the Starfleet insignia. All I have to say is
Hmmm... now that's fascinating... great minds think alike I s'pose? Your Aries-class bridge has an almost identical layout the the bridge I developed for my refit Sawyer class scout... including the location of the stairway... back when I was in Jr. High School (that would be roughly 1980). Granted, it's not done in the TNG_era style (mostly TOS with TMP influenced elements... remember, this was around the time that Sternbach's "Starflight Chronology" was out, and that's where I selected my ship from). But the overall layout... including slat-type windows overhead... I mean, the mind just boggles. That said... unless you're one of the "Psychic Friends," it's pure coincidence. And nicely-executed coincidence as well!
Bridge consoles http://redspar.smugmug.com/photos/384385659_bseoh-L.jpg Redspar that is a beautiful console. great design.
Wow, thanks all, you made my day. Cary L Brown - OK this is REALLY weird then.. I originally drew this Aries gunboat back in 1983 for the Star Trek Role Playing Game my friend and I played back in the day. I found my old drawings in a closet a few years ago and since I was learning 3d modeling at the time I thought I'd try to make my teenage drawings in 3D (I'm now 42 yrs old) Here is a pic of my original drawing from 1983: 3d model of it I made 2 yrs ago: If you look close enough you can see the innards of the bridge thru the windows. You still have your drawings Cary? I'd love to see them. Very weird though.. We must have tapped into the sci-fi collective consciousness of the time. sbk1234 - You are the first person to catch that, and yes it was intentional! The insignia make a perfect console shape
