If I could go in knowing future events... I'd rise through the ranks rapidly by saving the day every time... admiralty in record time! On those conditions, my choice would be 2009 Enterprise. Or Enterprise 1701-C... it's a beautiful ship with an admirable crew. Ambassador class was always my favorite.
That is an awesome image of the Ambassador class. Though for the best image of the Ambassador class, check out the 2012 Ships of the Line calendar.
Have to jump in despite the thread age! Beautiful! I love the lines of the Ambassador class! Barring CV-6 (with whom my father served as a member of Task Force 38/58), I would have to choose the B. Harriman may have started behind the curve, but his ship is a real beauty. I love the way the cross section of the engineering hull resembles the "tumblehome" of a late 18th century French frigate. She looks both massive and lithe, a difficult combination to pull off.
Well from least to most... NCC-1701-C.... let's face it. I don't want to die. NCC-1701-B... With Captain Incompitent? Only bright side is that I could possibly be running the place within a month. NCC-1701... Some great adventures, great crewmates, poor living conditions. NCC-1701-A... Same as above, though slightly improved. NCC-1701-E... Lap of luxury and the final frontier? What's not to like save that action hero Picard is captain. NCC-1701-D... The infamous space hotel! With great missions, and philosopher Picard as captain.
I guess this question presupposes that your appearance will create a new sequence of events/timeline. So you wouldn't necessarily be destroyed with the C or have Picard assimilated during the D's run. Otherwise, it would be somewhat boring if you knew exactly what all or most of the major events onboard ship would be.
Why the need to insult characters in a friendly thread? Remember, without that "brainless" captain, your beloved 24th century Trek wouldn't exist.
First choice: Definitely the original NCC-1701. No bloody A, B, C, D or E. The ship may be a bit cramped, but there are plenty of planetary missions and shore leaves. And Captain Kirk is DA MAN! Oh, and don't forget the women in miniskirts. Yeah, silly and impractical, but what can I say? I'm a leg man. Last choice: Of the Enterprises I'm familiar with, the 1701-D. I'd find the people boring and I never liked the ship.
1st choice for me would be archers enterprise exploring old races anew wouldnt want to be on the ent e knowing my luck id be the one told to stay near the front of the ship to check for stragglers
It's not that impractical, think of the female Security Officers onboard, the miniskirt would give them a very good range of motion for fighting, running, etc. Also, a line from the Tamerlane webcomic pops to mind: "You wouldn't hit someone wearing a minidress and go-go boots?"
You'd better be prepared for Data to answer every question in excruciating detail until your ears fall off and then ask if you want to know more.
I think the Ent D was the best. Let's face it you pretty much have to call the ship home with the amount of time you have to spend on it and the Enterprise E is just so dark and gloomy. It would start to wear on you. The ENT-D seemed brighter and the missions seemed more exploratory.
Easily the D, it can go to war yet also serve as a Civi-ship, would must prefer it over any of the others. As for least want to be on - C feels like the obvious choice, but I reckon the NX-01. Cant really take a beating compared to some of the others, not a hell of a lot of space on it and no holodeck to arse around in when you've time off.
The NCC-1701, TOS or TMP both variations are amazing. Though the TMP uniform (STII and beyond) is just smart looking. I would love to rock that. The least NCC-1701 D. I know that alot of people love that ship, I still think the design is ugly, the uniforms are horrible, especially at first, and the Holodeck seems to break down and become real way to often. I don't want to unwind in a place where I could be shot to death. Don't they have TV or Movies in the 24th century?
I like Enterprise-D the best. It was the best looking out of the official bunch. I'm not digging the TNG uniforms. Early DS9 / VOY uniforms were my favorite.
I would just ask Data to keep his answers as simple as possible, and if needed, I could ask for more detail. There were times when Picard did the same thing. It'd be fun, in addition, to ask things like, At Warp 7.8, how long would it take a ship to travel from Jupiter to Vulcan, if it has to reduce its speed during the trip to Warp 2 for 3.304 seconds for a quick shipboard test?
