I figured it was something like that. Still looks silly.
LatinoReview has posted the new theatrical trailer, #3.
Only a few new scenes but largely 95% just a recut of the last trailer from what I can tell.
Here is the movie synopsis again for any who might not yet know.
This is a pretty common thing with movie posters that I see all of the time and it's bugged me since grade school.
Sorry to drag up a month old thread, but this was the latest (& longest) one that I found on this.
I haven't read through the entire thread, but I did search it and didn't find what I was looking for. I know that this movie is based on the graphic novel by the same name. But does anyone know if the novel was in turn inspired by this Far Side cartoon?
I don't know exactly what year that cartoon was created, but it was included in "The Last Chapter and Worse", which was published in September 1996. My father-in-law has that book, and I just happened to see that comic recently when I was flipping through it. From what I've read, the concept for a movie was first pitched in 1997 (long before the graphic novel came about), so with that time frame it's possible that the idea was implanted with the Far Side cartoon. But is that the case?
I'm sure even before the Far Side cartoon, it wasn't really a new idea.
Nope not at all.
not exactly Cowboys and aliens but close.
Wow, reviews on this are really divided so far. Some seem to think the western/scifi mashup works really well and the movie's a lot of fun... and some don't really think it works at ALL.
Guess it was probably to be expected though. An odd concept like this just isn't going to work for everybody.
For those Star Wars fans among us...
"Daniel Craig's my Wookiee bitch now!"
"Daniel Craig's my Wookie-bitch now!" I LOVE it.
^It might bump my prior favorite Ford quote, which was his description of Star Wars: "Three goofballs and a guy in a monkey suit."
That is awesome!
That is apparently the quote of the millenium now. Okay, the millenium is young still, but I'm going to be watching out for anything that can beat it.
