Just watched the second episode (I'm a week behind). If you thought what he did to the fleeing suspects was out of bounds for a police officer you ain't seen nothing yet. This guy makes Vic Mackey look like Andy Taylor

First episode was a bit shaky, second episode was really good.

I wouldn't call this guy an anti-hero at all, in fact he seems to be one of the few characters portrayed as having a functioning conscience, whilst his betters, and many of his colleagues are selfish sociopaths.

Looking forward to watching ep3 tonight.

Yeah, he has a functioning conscience in some areas, such has protecting kids. But the way he goes about doing his job is, at best, amoral. As I touched upon above:
He and his crew set up a "sting" with the little girl so that he can murder two people: one by stabbing from behind and the other by having the little girl herself plunge the knife into the man's heart. That's not self-defense. It's not even killing a fleeing felon. It's premeditated murder and inducing a twelve year old child to commit murder.

Loved this last episode, which obviously took place several weeks later. I love how the right thing the was done, but in completely crooked, shady and questionable ways.

I thought this was technically a much brighter and more colorful episode, but this was also the first time I saw it in HD. I could finally make out some of the details.

I'm not sure about the ending, though. What was up with that? I thought the girl was past all that, or is she jealous? Very odd, indeed.

I like it quite a bit. I appreciate the fact that it's taking a chance on not being a run of the mill procedural.

Yeah, I agree. Anyway, I thought this episode was quite good (better late than never). They're finding their legs even when they change to a different case than before.

It IS developing nicely; I can't wait to see what the next episode will bring. I think having several plots going right from the start is a good idea. I also like that it hasn't been too "dumbed down," at least not yet.

Well, that had some unexpected moments.

    I'm starting to think:
It seems more likely that his wife killed his daughter and fled

It seemed to be a character episode rather than a plot of the week episode. In fact, I suspect we'll see the sister again.

For anyone on Netflix who doesn't have cable, I just noticed the DVDs release in Oct instead of making us wait a year as per usual. Now they just need to put it on streaming.

Just caught up with the last episode.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMN. That was pretty harsh---saw it coming, though. And beating the crap out of the priest? OK, he might have had some of that coming but....geez.

Felt really bad for the partner, though. It is fascinating to watch this circle where everyone is lying to everyone, even the people they like.

Not me. I was picturing a little revenge manipulation, maybe a beat down.

I didn't see it coming either. Maybe that locket really is cursed?

I think the only person we can count on actually making it to the end of the series is Corky; everyone else is clearly fair game.

I've been enjoying this show. The first episode was the weakest so far, but it showed clear improvement. The protagonist's acting is the weakest thing in the series, but the story itself is compelling and the historical situation pretty well realized: it's all about who has the right to perform violence, and under what circumstances and to what extent.

I couldn't get past the first ten minutes. There wasn't a single wide or establishing shot; felt like a youtube video. I couldn't believe it was by the Homicide crew.

    ^Too bad. You're missing a great show.
