I just watched Domino yesterday- and loved it- and now I keep thinking that Keira Knightley could be a cool T'Prynn.
Keira Knightley is a fine actress, and quite lovely -- but I think she's not quite right for this character.
Never seen Reign of Fire. Not my kind of movie. Here's the intro to Trainspotting on youtube. Contains rude language.
Given that McGregor isn't actually in Reign of Fire, it's extremely unlikely that he uses that or any accent in it. His Scottish accent is best heard in Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, as one of his characters in The Island and in A Life Less Ordinary.
Dang it! Those beards on the cover always confuse me. I can't tell you how many times I've passed that movie in the video store and thought Matthew McConaghey (sp?) was Kiefer Sutherland. Oh well, so I was wrong again. It happens. I used to think McGregor played the title character of "Sky Captain" as well. I guess that means I haven't seen anything at all with that guy (except that Trainspotting clip).
You've not seen any of the Star Wars prequel movies? Wow. I mean, I know there are plenty of people out there who loathe them, but to have not seen them altogether... Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
FYI, that was Jude Law in Sky Captain, but don't feel bad, I've gotten him and Ewan McGregor alot to.
The part of Renton from Trainspotting that "inspired" Pennington is not the heroin abuse but rather the cynicism and immersion in a seedy underworld culture. Though that's not where Pennington starts out in Harbinger, it's part of what his future holds. After his disgrace in Harbinger, I've sort of imagined him becoming kind of a fringe "gonzo" journalist, a la Hunter S. Thompson. (Minus the shotgun in the mouth.)
Well, that stands to reason. In the 23rd century, it would probably be a phaser rifle or something to that effect. ...what? Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
Haven't seen any of them yet (except a handful of clips here and there). I plan to watch them eventually, but I'll probably wait until I've gone through the whole Star Trek universe first, which'll probably take like five years. Yeah, I know that now, but it took me a while (and I actually saw the movie). He's a journalist? I thought he was a Starfleet officer. Wait, don't tell me, I haven't read it yet (but I will). Don't worry, I'll get to it soon enough. All in good time.
It'll be very interesting, to say the least, what Pennington eventually ends up doing that gets him the honor of having an entire school of journalism named after him... (the 'Pennington School' often mentioned on DS9)
