While not confirmed by the studio, apparently multiple industry sources have confirmed that the complete series will be releasing on Blu Ray on July 28th, while season 4.5 will come out on DVD on April 21. Apparently a shrink wrapped bundle will also come out that day with season 4.0, 4.5 and the Caprica pilot.

It takes 9 months to release 4.0, but only a month and a half to release 4.5?

    Silly bastards.

They'll have had these episodes ready for, what, at LEAST a year?

It doesnt matter for me....I'm certain I'll be too broke to buy it. Blu Ray. I can only imagine the cost.

The show will be over. Universal/Sci-Fi will have nothing more to promote. Universal, along with nearly every other studio, is known for holding DVD releases back until it's time to promote the new season. Look at "Lost" - when the show premiered in Fall, they'd conveniently release the DVDs just before the season started. Once they pushed the series to a January premiere, the DVDs were suddenly delayed until December. It's all a marketing trick and has nothing to do with the manufacturing process.

I wonder if the "Complete Series" will include The Plan... It airs in June (probably), right?

    ^ I hope so.

The complete series on Blu-Ray is what I've been waiting for. I passed on the full-season boxed sets because of it. Didn't think it would be out so soon though. I was actually prepared to wait a couple of years. I still will if this turns out not to be true.

No, it is, in fact, New Galactica. The Blue Ray version was announced some time ago.

I'll be picking up the Blu-rays on day one. Now I just need to sell my DVDs. ;)

Oh, I know all that. But they're still silly bastards for making me wait so long for 4.0.

I'm an HD whore; however, this is one of the few shows that doesn't need an HD upgrade. The DVDs look great! My HD-DVD of season 1 does look fantastic; however, given the inherent grain to BSG and the shaky-cam, I don't think it benefited THAT much.

Besides, I have the Future Shop exclusive steelbook versions of seasons 3 and 4.0 :D

I only have the first two releases, so I'd love the BluRay. Depends on how much it is, of course.

Anybody have a clue about cost? I mean, the whole series on Blu-Ray can't be cheap. And is it going to be a single box set, or are they still gonna sell it by the season?

I hope both, but I'd bet it will be in one box. I've heard some estimates ranging from $200-$350.

Well, I own everything on DVD already, so I'm probably just gonna do 4.5 on DVD as well.

The Blu-Ray upgrade will have to wait a while for me.

I can't wait... if they include everything, from the miniseries, to RAZOR, to The Plan, I'll definitely buy it. Owning all of nuBSG on Blu-Ray would be my primary reason for getting a Blu-Ray player.

Official announcements should be happening in the next few weeks so expect that info then.

My guess is that the MSRP of the complete series on Blu Ray will either be $250 or $300.
