Well, if we're going to go with Uhura's earpiece, we're probably going to need her giant hoop earrings, as well. (Maybe hanging down from the underside of the saucer section?)

Since Abrams is clearly ripping off nuBSG, perhaps the deflector dish could be replaced with "The Look". "The Look" shooting phasers out of his eyes. That would be suitably badass. And dark and edgy.

:guffaw:Oh man how did I not see this thread before..As a fan of both TOS and TNG I think both Sombreroprises rule! Although, I think the D should maybe have one of those little dashboard nodding-dog things on it. And one of those yellow baby signs that says 'Wesley on board'..:p

Since Spock was also seen to use a similar earpiece on more than one occasion, (and since those are almost certainly not Uhura's ears) calling it "Uhura's earpiece" may not be entirely accurate (were the earpieces monogrammed or personalized in any way?) but I think we should see what the hoops would look like.

Thanks Sam. I like to think of myself as an "idea man". Major respect to Eliyahu for a perfect realization of what I was thinking!

This thread is a sure sign of the apocalypse or the purest display of our collective geek genius since the invention of porn on the internet.

Where most threads' shame glands are, this thread has a second awesome gland. True story.
