I was looking through youtube at DS9 fan trailers and decided I'd shared what I thought were the best ones here.

Apparently, lots of people like Undiscovered Country music with their DS9 - and I agree! It goes well together.

Which is your favorite? Haven't voted yet, but will once I rewatch them.

For me it was a toss-up between The BSG opening and the trailer using ST11 trailer music. Went with the trailer in the end. :)

Or there's this one with shots from all the episodes...(not a trailer, a music video like the Mayer one.)

    And another trailer style one...

Yeah, that other trailer style one I was on the fence of including or not, but decided not to, partially because it was about an imaginary future film.

But man - I wish I had known about that music video one! That was fantastic! I wish I could edit the poll to include it...

I decided to go with option one, the montage, which I think is just fabulous.

The BSG one's my fav'. Short, sweet, and says all that needs to be said about the series (in a good way, that is!).

It is a great one, no question. I like how full to the brim the episode seems due to the "this week on..." shots are all from different eps. :)

Here's some more DS9 credits in other show styles...(Some of them aren't so awesome, but everyone clearly put in effort.)

Certainly the best one technically, no doubt! Very well made and, like you said, short, sweet, and says it all.

I just didn't get why it said "protecting a home called Earth," when the characters, while protecting Earth, protect much more than that. "The Dominion won't attack Earth...Earth isn't the key to the Alpha Quadrant, the wormhole is...."

I like the last one best, the one with the ST09 music, which fits DS9 better than the TUC music, I think. Will elaborate more later.

I went with the last option: Movie-Preview style Trailer, somewhat focusing on Sisko and Kira, from 2012.

Really well put together and I like the focus on Sisko and Kira. Well put together and seamless. If Nu-Trek 2 had a trailer even a fifth as good as that I'd be on the edge of my seat waiting for the film.

One thing, does anyone know what the music is?

I also have to give an honourary mention to the BSG-style opening as well.

Yeah, that last trailer in the poll's well done too. My only problem with it is that it uses some of the same quotes as the other trailers do. Okay, so that's what all trailers do, lift the best bits of dialog to sell the movie/series, but that just reinforces why the BSG one's so brilliant. Everything is sold on imagery alone.

Let's just say I got it from a friend in the Gamma Quadrant. Someone who values staying off the radar. ;)

I wanted to give a shout out to the 2010-theatrical trailer as well. I think that might be my 2nd favorite, though it's hard to say.
It has a great sequence of dialogue -
a monologue by Sisko about earth and Federation ideology, then dialogue between Weyoun and Sisko on the Dominion and Federation, Dukat on his reputation, a return to the Weyoun/Sisko dialogue, space battling, Dukat loosing it, and finally Sisko on Dukat.

We certainly have heard much of this in other trailers, but I think it's dramatically well sequenced here.
