Either Spock is getting ready to be beamed out or he is having a religious experience.
Probably the best character poster released so far. Contains enough unique imagery so as not to be interchangeable with every action film under the sun.
If you guys really think that the Enterprise-plummeting-in-flames poster bears no majorly-explicit resemblance to the Iron-Man-plummeting-in-flames poster, I don't really know what to say.
Which has what to do with this particular poster?
I'm still trying to figure out why this is important.
Here are all the four new posters:
Those all actually look pretty sweet lined up next to each other like that.
*cue Senator Vreenak*
Vreenak is a lamer. How long can an in-joke go on - never mind, the answer is "decades."
Looking nice irl
I love all of them, but I can't help seeing the wrinkle in Harrison's coat collar as as extension of his mouth. It just looks peculiar.
One of the things I noticed is that Uhura has her own poster. It just makes me wonder if she instead of McCoy become part of the team with Spock and Kirk?
It's fairly common to trump up the role of a female support character to draw in viewers. Look at Arwen in Lord of the Rings after all.
It does appear that Uhura is number three now, yeah. Completely understandable in several respects.
Or maybe instead of a "Big Three" this franchise will have a "Big Four"...?
There's been nothing released thus far to suggest that McCoy has a significant role to play in the plot. He gets his moments - such as the opening sequence - but there's no indication that he plays a central role in the main story.
Didn't Orci just Tweet that McCoy plays a "key role" in the film?
Zoe Saldana has a huge following outside of Trek. It's just smart marketing/script writing to give her a bigger role than McCoy.
