Food Shortages

Are you preparing for future food shortages??

There's been riots around the world over food shortages in such places as Tunisia, the middle east and Africa and there's people saying that food shortages may hit Europe and America some time soon in the future.

Do you believe we could be hit by food shortages? Are you preparing for future food shortages? if so what are you doing? if not why not?

As long as the grape harvest is good, and there's plenty of wine, I'll survive somehow...

A shortage of food might actually do me some good.

So, no.

Would you pay $30 for a loaf of bread? that's if you're lucky a loaf of bread is even on the supermarket shelf.

This is the first I've heard of it, so no, I'm not worried.

Neither am i. Rather alarmist though. I won't put too much credence to it.

There were food shortages rising last year during the oil price hike, I've heard nothing about it since, and oil prices dropped then stabilised, so I'm not too worried, no.

I'm still not worried. Plus, scientists have already said that we're in an El Nino, so prepare for a wet winter in CA.

Eh, we're over populated anyway ...

The world tends to balance itself out in the end so somehow things will work out.

I can't keep ahead on groceries more than a few days, so unless the shortage lasts two or three days, um, no.

Am I preparing? No. And no, I would not pay that much for bread, when I can bake it myself as long as I have access to some sort of grain.

And I could prolly eat from our cupboards for several weeks before starvation and boredom hits. (The chocolatestash in my bakingcabinet could keep hormonal women happy for months)

I'm buying at least 365 packets of pasta not straight away, over time, but not too long a time.
