Barrowman escapes 80mph car crash

He was filming a segment for Fifth Gear, the motoring magazine show and came off the road in a rally car. There was some glass in his eye and he was taken to hospital, but he's otherwise okay by all accounts.

Info here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...car-crash.html

Phew... Captain Jack's handsome face survives another day.

let me get this straight John Barrowman, the guy who plays a future human who can never die, walks away from a 80mph car crash, with bearly a scratch on him, from which other men could have been killed, and no one thinks that this is odd?

if I was the paramedic attending, my sides would have split in laughter when I found out that my patient was Captain Jack Harkness a man who can not die.

If im Captain Scarlet im pretty pissed that not only is John Barrowman stealing my thing on screen, but now he is doing it in real life.

I was in a car crash several years ago and had glass in my eye, it actually pierced the white of one of my eye's and went pretty deep inside. I was sooo lucky that it didn't damage my lenses or any other important parts. It's not a nice experience at all, surgery for the large bits and a vaseline like gue left in over a few nights to get the smaller splinters out.

I hope I didn't just make any of you squirm too much

Anyway, here's hoping barrowman has a good recovery and the injuries were not too serious.

Sure.. but atleast ONE hand on the wheel would have been prudent.

Well I'm somewhat relieved that it was for a show. If he'd been driving on a public road I'd be in a serious snit! We've lost way too many favorite performers lately. Be careful!

Fortunately he's just too pretty for God to let die.

Now we know why Top Gear only lets guests drive in the crappy Chevy on their flat test track.

I don't know how I missed this one when it first happened, but I'm glad Barrowman and Needell are both okay. Glass shards in Barrowman's eyes just sound nasty. Ugh.

I just love that Metro compared it to Hammond's 288mph smash back in 2006 in a car designed to set land-speed records. They're not even remotely comparable! And Hammond sure as hell didn't get up and walk away!

I suppose the helmet, racing harness and rally spec car might have helped his chances just a little.
