UK BBSers, when did Space 1999 air in the 80s

I can't remember seeing any of it till the new millennium, when I picked up S1 on DVD and then ITV4 started showing it. But prior to that, during the 80s and 90s, I only saw it twice.

On a satellite channel that I couldn't remember to identify I saw a bit of The Last Sunset and then once on that show Best of British where there was a clip of Alan taking out the bomber in War Games.

No idea why, but the idea that I couldn't remember it being on irked me. UFO was a Saturday lunchtime favourite on UTV/ITV, but Space 1999 escapes me in a way that the moon never could in reality

80's... I was still in junior high when that was on the air and I graduated in 77...

I can't recall Space being on in the 80s... That isn't to say that it wasn't, it's just that I don't recall it at all. Try the Catacombs of the Moon website, they may have some info. http://www.space1999.net/moonbase99/cotm.htm

Looks like they've had a facelift, too.

Apparently, UTV repeated the show between 1983 and 1984. See here: http://www.space1999.net/~catacombs/main/pguide/vibutv.html

Andrew, nice avatar

Too early for me then, I was only 3-4 when it showed. Decent live action SF series were thin on the ground from what I remember back then, so I was sure I would have remembered it if it was on.

you have to wonder what kind of show that it would be today with all this better tech.
