Isn't there a sub-board for the show better suited to this topic?

As to the critics, well there's no accounting for taste.

I don't think that I've ever heard of the Television Critics Association awards.

^^Like the New York and Los Angeles Film Critics Associations, their awards are not as widely publicized as the Emmy Awards or the Oscars, probably because the people doing the nominating and awarding are critics and not Hollywood celebrities. But, I would consider them more thoughtful than those more popular awards.

BSG gets my award for Most. Overrated. Series. Ever. (well, maybe not ever, but it's close)

Good news, but I am certainly not leaving my wife and kids tonight to drive three hours to dance in my parent's basement (And since both they and I live in Florida, home of no basements, I wouldn't even have a basement to dance in, but that's besides the point) as the article suggests.

I would agree to just accept the fact that the Emmys won't nominate sci-fi if newspapers, blogs, internet sites, tv news, etc. would accept that not all sci-fi fans are big geeks living in their parent's basement...

I don't know what to do. My parents don't have a basement. Nor do my in-laws. Oh, God.... I can't be a real fan.

Other than BSG I haven't seen any of these. Except Betty White(whew! for a moment there I though I was completely lacking in taste!).

Cool. I'm always happy to see nuBSG get the recognition it deserves IMHO.

I'm really happy that an SF show won an award. Still won't watch it though.

Y'know what? I'm a huge fan of nuBSG. I really love it, truly I do. But I have to agree, it is massively overrated. Especially the series finale.

Re: 'Battlestar' wins top TV Critics award

It should have won for season 1 or season 2. Maybe even season 3, if we focus on only the great episodes, especially the New Caprica storyarc, and disregard the lame ones in the middle of the season. It did not deserve to win for season 4, especially not the second part that aired in 2009, and it certainly was not as good as Lost this year, not to mention The Shield. But I suppose the Television Critics Association felt they needed to correct their mistake for not giving BSG an award earlier, in one of its good seasons (at least I think they never did).

It did not deserve to win for season 4, especially not the second part that aired in 1999

Oh my God, what can it be? Alternate timeline? Alternate calendar? No, wait - can it be a TYPO?! Shock! Horror! We've never seen something like that on an online forum!
