TREK, the new thing in POLITICS?

Never thought I'd see the day TREK would be brought up in POLITICS of all places! http://trekmovie.com/2009/06/16/nyc-...g-in-politics/

yeah, I've noticed this trend too. have you seen Chris Matthews' (Hardball on MSNBC) Trek blurb? the Trek music plays and a voiceover says "boldly go..." then Chris says "sometimes I think I am Captain Kirk and you're Mr. Spock".

I notice that often. I wonder where I can get the clip.

^That guy is my representative! I'm glad he was a good enough sport and big enough trekkie to do that gag on Colbert.

Maybe we're just noticing it more now then before (?) but I think Trek has always been a pretty healthy part of our pop culture that's for sure.

But I suppose it would be natural for the blurbs to be increased with the new movie and everything. I did see in the paper yesterday they recommended STAR TREK THE ORIGINAL SERIES on blu ray for fathers day...and there in the middle of the article was a pic of good ole Prime Kirk lookin back at me.

He is a good sport. Palmyra looks like a nice place.

I agree with the Minnesota politician at the end of the clip who said that he hoped that we could all "live long and prosper."

Isn't that the point? If "Trek" can put that up front and center, I'm all for "Trek" in politics!
