Question about Parker, Lambert deaths in ALIEN

I had always assumed that Ripley saw both of their bodies near the end after they are killed by the Alien. But I just read one account of the scene that describes what we see as Parker's body cut in two. Is this right? Also, if so, do we then never see what happened to Lambert's body?

We heard what happened to Lambert. It's been awhile, but didn't Ripley see the alien taking Lambert's body up into one of the ceiling conduits?

Actually I think the alien ripped Parker into three pieces.

From what I remember, we get a shot of Parker in the background covered in blood with Lambert's arm in the foreground also covered in blood. It looks pretty obvious that both were killed there and then.

Putting my ex-CSI viewer hat on, if they'd been killed elsewhere there would be a trail of blood leading to where Ripley found them.
