Iggy Pop as Yelgrun

I think he would make a perfect Vulcan or Romulan than a Vorta. In my opinion not the greatest performance when it comes to playing a Vorta. A great performance again by Christopher Shea as Keevan. I can only stand to watch only half the episode of The Magnificent Ferengi. It to bad the writers didn't make him appear again before this episode or as one of his clones in a later episode

Iggy as Romulan, yes - as Vulcan, no .

It's only logical that you can't watch the whole TMF episode - Gaila kills you after all .

Keevan is magnificently smug. But no one is fit to hold a candle to Jeffrey Combs when it comes to playing a Vorta.

Re: Iggy Pop as Yelgrun

I thought Iggy Pop was fine.

He has, what one might politely call, a lived-in face though so from that perspective, it didn't make much sense since Vorta don't seem to be bred for longevity.

Worked for me though.

Jeffrey Combs certainly played the role quite well when it came to playing a Vorta. I like to think Keevan is right up there with Weyoun but as second best.

Perhaps Yelgrun was an exceptionally old Vorta. It would seem to fit with his generally tired attitude.

Regardless of whether they have the same lifespan as humans, Vorta probably reach maturity much more quickly than humans, probably making them socially useful for a similar amount of time.

As much as I think that Weyoun was the most interesting and best performed Vorta (switching easily between being childlike, diplomatic, and authoritarian), all the Vorta felt different. There was no archetype that was built into the race as a whole. Eris was reserved, Kilana was flirty, Keevan was arrogant, and Yelgrun was skeptical and unmoveable.

Good point! We never saw an older Vorta on the series unless we could count Deyos as an older Vorta. It would be interesting to know if the Changlings in fact genetically engineered and cloned all the Vorta from Kurill Prime. I guess they would have to if they are going to create a large galactic empire. There can't be two Weyouns active at the same time.

I loved TMF. sure it was a fluff episode, but it worked well. Iggy's deadpan made it that much better

Pretty much this. I liked that they made Yelgrun a sort of anti-Weyoun. They needed a voice for the character that would distinguish itself from both Weyoun's (relative) flamboyance and Keevan's rampant contempt.

I believe Yelgrun had a hangover during that episode. Iggy was fun to watch.

He is the world's forgotten Vorta, the one who searches to destroy...

I liked his performance as Yelgrun. This episode didn't call for a cagey talker, it called for a stoic foil.
