^ Culture ship names FTW ^

Wonder what the Federation would be like if the ships' computers were like the AIs in the Culture novels...

Re: Name your ship!

Well, I personally envision the Kelvin being a "Solomon Class" ship, so I drag up the names of

USS Solomon - NCC-0500
USS Newton - NCC-0501
USS DaVinci - NCC-0502
USS Cochrane - NCC-0503
USS Socrates - NCC-0504
USS Copernicus - NCC-0505
USS Archimedes - NCC-0506
USS Tesla - NCC-0507

You get the idea. Take about twenty five to thirty ships all named after famous scientists/philosophers/wiseguys of Earth history.

USS Bastard.

Its continuing mission: to antagonize strange new worlds, to piss off new life and new civilizations, to annoyingly pester where no ship has pestered before.

Oh yes, the "Gravitas" gag: those were the best in a large collection of great names.
