I disliked aspects of it, but of the ones you list, only the cuts in the action sequences.

I just got back and I'm overwhelmed. What a tremendous movie. It IS Star Trek, but not quite Trek as we've known it, which we knew was the case for some time now. I think in many ways, knowing as much about the movie as I did helped me to enjoy it, because I've had time to adjust to the idea of a reboot.

And if you're going to reboot Trek, then this most definitely is the way to do it.

The Missus and I are seeing it again tomorrow, as we had bought tickets three weeks ago for the showing on the 7th, then a pair of passes for tonight's sneak-peek feel into my lap unexpectedly. So I think I'll reserve the bulk of my comments until I've had my second viewing.

Oh yeah, I voted 'Excellent'. No other choice really.

Well, that's really just a guess. I read your post. But I know many people here don't read posts of that length that don't contain paragraphs.

Posts that are just one huge single block are harder to read. They indicate a lack of ability to communicate properly, through the written word. Some people might infer that as a lesser intelligence or intellect, thus dismissing that person's opinion as ill-informed and of lesser worth.

I'd be one of those people.

Although I AM worried about the constant lens flares. Thank God the original post contained none of THOSE!

Is there any reason this couldn't have been posted in the pinned grading and discussion thread at the top of this forum? Posting your reactions to the movie -- whether good, bad, or indifferent -- is the whole reason for that thread being there.

Indeed. I don't even bother reading posts like that. It's one thing to have no paragraphs, but it's even worse when there are no spaces between sentences!

That said, I haven't seen the movie yet. I am excited about it, but I don't want to get my hopes up just in case it sucks.

You know, if someone writes really badly I usually simply don't read their posts. Yours fell into that category, sorry.

No - you said that.

I am saying I find it difficult and jarring to read sentences that flow on from each other, sentences that begin immediately after a full stop(there should be two spaces)and posts that contain glaring spelling and grammatical errors(I am NOT saying I am king of grammar here but I DO expect a basic adherence to proper sentence/paragraph structure).

Anything less than this indicates

1) Laziness, thus further implying a lazy attitude to thinking, thus that person's opinion means less to me.

or

2) Lower intelligence/education, thus that person's opinion means less to me.

If your opinion of MY opinion of YOU means THAT much to ANYONE then they should take the requisite steps to either increase their educational standards or stop being lazy. Until that time, their opinion will be given the corresponding respect it deserves.

It is not MY problem that a poster wishes to be lazy in their writing style or level of education and is not taken seriously.

Ok Trekies . I have edited my original review for the sake of the more enlightend that are members of this fine forum.

I feel like such a dummy and I am truly sorry to have haphazardly posted some thoughts on this board without giving some thought to the intelligence, or lack thereof , of some of the fine people of this forum.

Again ,after editing ,perhaps a fresh look at my review may spark an intelligent coversation.
