Their track record is pretty awful - they introduce new male and female characters all the time, and most of them I'm glad to see gone.

They lucked out with half dozen or so worthwhile characters in S1, and those are the ones worth hanging onto and salvaging (because they've been screwed up in S2-3). Most of those characters happen to be male. But they need to focus on their strengths and not start wandering off into their areas of weakness because this show is only just turning itself around creatively and the ratings are still a disaster. It's triage time.

There are only two female main characters left now. If they writers don't kill off a male main character by the end of the season the feminists are going to cry foul.

^^ I may be a feminist, but as a viewer I'm perfectly comfortable watching a lot of air time of male characters.

And I resent the reality-show dynamics of regularly losing characters along the way. Get them right in the first place, and keep them! With only a few changes in the cast.
