Hmm, you may be on to something here.

I just checked an episode of Chuck I got where Tahir appears. The "You're captain now, Mr. Kirk." is really brief but I could see it being Tahir's voice.

But I can not say with 100% certainty.

You know what's even cooler? When one of the guys asks Kirk who he is, Kirk says "Joe." The guy then says, "Joe who?" To which Kirk replies--LOLZ, this is just too much, are you ready, huh? You ready? You ready? 'K, here goes--Kirk replies, "Joe Mama!"

That's just so totally Kirk, amiright?

After recently rewatching "Shore Leave," that sounds just right...

You're confusing Kirk for Riker, who, after saying that line, would flash an "F" for Federation with his fingers.

^^ I don't know... I wouldn't be so hard on Picard. After all, he was a fighter once upon a time too; brash and cocky. Until that unfortunate impalement of his heart, that ironically also happened in a bar, and during an unevenly matched fight.

Maybe it's just luck that Kirk never had a similar heartbreaking (literal and figurative) experience to drag him down to Earth...

We'll I think it's always been implied that Kirk is much better at hand to hand combat. So, I suppose there is a certain level of luck there, but I think a lot of it is skill.

And Picard was stupid enough to pick a fight with two (three?) Nausicans.
