“Star Trek: Ferenginar Rising” Advance Poster Released

Breaking News: In a stunning move by the studio, the advance one-sheet poster for the next Star Trek film has been released before the current film even hit theaters. Star Trek: Ferenginar Rising is slated to hit theaters in the 4th quarter 2010. We assume they intend to capitalize on the pre-release hype of the Star Trek reboot by releasing the poster for the next movie before the script is finished. Of course, this makes a few details about the next script clear: Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto will obviously be returning as Kirk and Spock, and the plot will center around the Ferengi from Star Trek: The Next Generation. According to the lore, the Ferengi were once enemies of the Federation but achieved a tenuous alliance with them by the end of Deep Space Nine. Whether Armin Shimmerman will reprise his role as Quark is unknown.

I'd watch it. Especially if they bring back the ultra-whips.

For the record, I didn't fall for it! However, it is sad how realistic it is, and how it wouldn't be that big a stretch for this to be true.
