They haven't said how many tickets were released to the public, but they seemed to be Dress Circle only - maybe 200 or so? - and were sold out within minutes. I was really hoping my name might have come up on a guest list, since I did considerable (free) work for Paramount and CIC-Taft over the years, helping to organise fan and gala previews for ST III, IV and "Generations", and "The Cage" and TNG on video, etc.

Oh well...

I heard about 200 as well, my tickets are for the stalls, about 3rd row from the front in roughly the middle of the theatre. Got the day off work as well so I can just drive up to sydney get my tickets and wait for the red carpet to start, I will have my iphone handy to take pictures, at least before we go in because then you have to put your mobile in the cloak room.

I will definitely bring back my impressions and stories if I'm lucky, although I will steer away from letting out spoilers, personally I don't want to even accidently ruin this for anyone. I think after almost 3 years this is one movie that will definitely have to be experienced first in the cinema, rather then reading about it online.

I HAVE to ask - how did you get a ticket? People here were onto the Opera House at 9AM sharp and got nothing, and they were all gone within 5 minutes. How did you do it?

Near as I can tell pure luck, I just kept hitting refresh on the computer and one time i hit f5 the calender was there, I had no lag or slowness in speed. I thought I would miss out, and it really didn't sink in till the confirmation arrived.

I logged on just before 9 and managed to get my ticket all sorted by 9.02. I heard that by 9.06 they were all gone, but I checked back about 11 and one was available. I'm guessing that people didn't go through with a purchase or something. My set is second row from the front, slightly on the right hand side.

I will definitely leave my non-spoilerish thoughts here afterwards and I'm taking my camera too so will try to get some pics from the red carpet.

Ah, sorry, I meant the Gala Premiere dates.

I am aware of Austrailia on April 7th, NZ 9th, DE 19th and UK 20th - but there are several others as well..
