John Billingsley would've been good as the never depicted Dr. Cox.

Dr. Cox was Dukat's psychiatrist while he was in UFP custodial care after Sisko & Co. retook DS9.

He was never depicted on-screen, just mentioned.

But, I think John Billingsley would be, would've been, fine casting as Dr. Cox.

Given Dr Cox was nothing more then a name drop you could have had any middle-aged person in the role. No point wasting money on an actor for a character that doesn't need to appear for any reason at all.

Was he supposed to have a flakey intern named JD?

Perry Cox dealing with Dukat. I'd pay good money to see that.

God, that's hilarious.

DUKAT: The thing that the Bajorans never understood is that we, as Cardassians, were simply superior to them! granted, the occupation may not have been the easiest time for their people, but the Bajorans came out of it as a richer culture. They learned Cardassian techniques for everything from mining and building to information storage. They leanred such things that would have taken them CENTURIES to learn by themselves! We gave them a head start into a galaxy that they were not ready for, and how did they repay us? With hatred! With terrorism! With bitterness! We did not deserve such treatment! After all that we gave them, they turn their backs to us? They owe us more than they can possibly imagine! You asked me why I wanted to kill them all? It's because they refused to see the good that they got from the Occupation! They focussed entirely on a few minor inconveniences and refuse to look at the big picture!

COX: Okay, Shirley.....

[*SIGH!*]...I remember quite clearly posting one or two threads about Perry Cox being Dukat's shrink. Yeah, I know that was quite some time ago, but this sort of thing makes me feel...vaguely nonexistent, somehow!

Still, you gotta admit that the notion truly is just funny enough to actually warrant multiple threads!

If it's any comfort to you, I read one of those threads and thought it was a hillarious idea. I thought about posting a link here, but I was to lazy to do any searching. Mea culpa.

I'd never made that connection before, but I'd somehow love to see a Perry Cox like character try to deal with Garak without having a mental breakdown.

Or any Cardassian for that matter!

"Okay then Du-kat you're telling me that you were misunderstood and that you just wanted to be friends with the Bajorians? Yeah right, let me just lay down a few home truths on your scaly head there buddy.
You are theee biggest murderer that these guys have ever seen you worked the poor bastards to death and now you have the gall to sit here and cry about how people don't love you! I've got news for you Dorothy, no one's listening except for me and I don't give a rats ass quite frankly.
So I'm gonna leave you in the less capable hands of Alice here 'cause I'm bored and I have a crate of the finest Bloodwine waiting for me.
Good luck there newbe."
