Re: Battlestar Galactica Series Finale: "Daybreak, Part II"

An average finale.

I took all the parts and the only great part would be the second hour.

Kara was in EVERYONE'S head for a year? The President did make it to the promised land, which was very nice. Adama didn't go down with the ship. The ending was rather... ehhh.... How did Six and Baltar live? It should have only been Six, and while walknig down the street there is a huge nuke gonig off behind her.

Heads Six and Baltar should have stopped in front of a Starbucks and done a double-take.

Although if they are who they seem to be, maybe they did that on purpose.

They weren't Baltar or Six. They were HEADBaltar and HEADSix.

The episode was so fast paced in the beginning, it was insane! The action was definately there.

Excellent.

- Didn't feel perfect, but it was an easy excellent and a nice ending.

- Cavil's group kind of just went away too easily it seemed.

- The colonials have arrived. No more Cylons, no more technology, no more being on the run in deep space... They have a good simple life now and a real chance for peace.

- I was accidentally spoiled on the "150,000 years later" bit last night, but I still enjoyed the end immensely.

- Reading through all your comments over the last few weeks, I kept an open mind about there being a second Earth and it looks like you were right.

- They didn't explain Starbuck or the head people, but I guess we can deduce that there's a higher power at work for sure. But who doesn't like to be called "God"? Dirk Benedict?

- I was wondering whether or not the Chief would find out about about what Tori did to Cally. He did and it was handled pretty well.

- The most touching moment for me was Baltar breaking down in the end over his dad.

Here are some posts I've made in other threads that I'd like to address...

I predict a happy ending of some sort.
Have you actually watched the show?
Yes, and I'm standing by my prediction for now. I have something else to add, but I'll probably wait until the finale has aired.
Through all these discussions about how it was going to end, people have neglected one obvious thing... The title "Daybreak".

Daybreak: –noun "the first appearance of daylight in the morning; dawn."

You do realize that it was Head Baltar and Head Six don't you?

Excellent. Frakking excellent.

It's hard to try to summarize everything that's happened but we were treated to some answers, some amazing battles, and some great acting and FX. I definitely was not disappointed with this episode and it's a great ending for the series.

Laura's death definitely got to me but I found myself getting emotional when Baltar told Six that he was a farmer. Finally, that jackass comes through with something.

The Kara storyline...okay. I guess she was a higher power or something.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Series Finale: "Daybreak, Part II"

As of right now, I can't see how the ending could have been done any better. I'm satisfied. Both with the answers we got, and with the things that were left nebulous. I don't care who head Six and head Baltar were, I'm OK that they were "angels" or whatever. I also like that Starbuck was essentially a Gandalf-like character, brought back from the dead to save her friends, and to be "called home" when her time is done. I'm surprised how many people lived, but was completely satisfied with them ending up as our ancestors. I had to get the kleenex when Adama carried Roslin to the Raptor, and am heartbroken that my poor, little Racetrack bought the bullet. I'm sure I'll have more comments when I've digested the show more fully.

Just have to say again that this was a perfect ending to the show I think.

Three more weeks of robotic goodness on Terminator. I suddenly feel Terminator: Salvation has a lot to live up to.

Pretty damn good finale! The Caprica scenes were a little on the dull side but other than that, I don't think they could've done anything better. Action-packed first half, feel-good second half, me liked it!

It should be noted though that it failed to choke me up or anything the way the DS9 finale always does. Simple fact is I don't really have any emotional investment in the show or its characters. Just the way it is.

Yeah, it was good.

Excellent.

Even got Hendrix's Watchtower cover in at the end. Beautiful. Hopefully it plays over the credits to the extended version.
