Was Carl hooked into the Intersects grand pappy?

Been watching season three.

Oceanic Flight 815 was mentioned in one of the early episodes of Chuck, I guess the producers of these two shows are just building up a friendly volley.

it was probably just a nod to Lost in that episode of Chuck. There are alot of references to pop culture in Chuck.
