House, MD: 5x18 "Here Kitty" - Discussion and Spoilers

From TV.com:

A nursing home worker, Morgan, fakes an illness to get House to examine a cat which can predict the death of elderly patients. House doesn't believe it... until Morgan becomes ill for real.

I'm looking forward to this one. House + animals has made for good comedy in the past.

The title has got to be a wink at Arrested Development. Judy Greer (the big guest star this week) played a character named Kitty on that show. I love it. I haven't watched House in weeks, but I will probably try to catch this one.

What is that strange, large, archaic-looking black thing she held up to the window?

So Taub's problem is that he's regretting some of his choices, now? I know he's mentioned the money situation, but it seems almost as if there's more. I HAVE to have missed something.

All I remember is that Taub gave up his practice as a Plastic Surgeon to prevent his adultery from getting out to his wife and colleagues which is how ended up under the pervue of House.

Who's the POTW? I've seen her somewhere before.

And, surely, Kumar knows that the "walking under a ladder" superstition mostly comes from when someone is ON the ladder.
