prepare to be Rushified!!!

Here's a clip from the new film, I Love you Man, a comedy that I'm interested in seeing due to it's premise and it's concert/cameo from the band rush as well as its many references to the band. Soon after is the release of Adventureland, which has Rush in the soundtrack as well. Last year saw them perform live on TV for the first time in decades. Their tunes have experienced a resurgence of sorts with younger kids thanks to Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Over the last ten years, songs of theirs have been scattered on film soundtracks, although they don't write specific songs for films. Also a computer game called Darkstar was supposed to feature a Rush-centric or Rush only soundtrack (I'm not sure when that game will be released).

Well I'm just posting this because I find it interesting that despiute the fact that the critics never really thought much of this band over the years, they have endured, and they managed to attract new audiences in a new generation. What I find most remarkaeable is that, love them or hate them, they got to where they are entirely on their own terms.

Best use of Rush? Chuck vs Tom Sawyer. That is all.

I agree. I love that epi. In a way though, they just expanded a futurama clip to a full hour.

Of course they also have frequent references on ATHF

Meh, every Rush song sounds the same to me. The power chords, the Ayn Rand lyrics, even the much-celebrated (and IMO overrated) drumming just doesn't do much for me.

But if the band still has fans after all these many years, hey, more power to them - glad to hear they're still around.

It's Geddy's world. We just live in it.

Oh god, when I read the subject I thought you were talking about Rush Limbaugh! Whew, close one...

And for the record, Rush does indeed kick all kinds of ass. I wish I flew in a flying bass plane like Geddy Lee...
