Well, fine, but I wouldn't live there.

(I can think of a couple of instances of planes accidentally hitting buildings, actually, but thankfully not big jets.)

Again, why would spacecraft that we've seen take off vertically have any problem with hitting buildings ?

^Takeoffs don't always go as planned. But I surrender the point, airports are sometimes built in locations where they can be a nuisance and danger.
