Actually I've visited Vancouver before and over the course of the series I've noticed Vancouver landmarks popping up here and there. For example I didn't know the Bank of Nova Scotia has a branch in Caprica City.
I'm 95% sure I saw a subway in Caprica City looking out Baltar's limos window as it drove down the road!

Ten bucks says they cross-budgeted this FX shot with Caprica, lol. I mean, how much has the NYC skyline changed (with one obvious exception) in 50 years, right?

Well, we can already make out one tourist attraction...

Caprica City has a leaning tower!

Probably because one of those spaceships hit it, because the Caprican authorities are so reckless as to put a spaceport in the middle of downtown. No wonder the Cylons won the war.

^Those are civilian ships. They appear to be of the same design as Colonial One.

Look at all those cool buildings. I wonder what the tall pointy one in the background is for.

Frakking Gods dammit I can't wait for Caprica.

Re: Screengrab of Caprica city in Daybreak pt. 1?

Well they are the same design... Colonial One is really an Intersun Liner, so these are others just like it... the Colonial version of an airline. I liked that we saw them in the shot... it was a nice touch.

I'm sure we'll see some spaceships in Caprica.

I think that's the whole point of Daybreak, Pt 1 - to get people ready for Caprica and not finish the show like we want them too.

^

Well of course that was a big part of the whole point... so? What is everyone complaining about? What do you think Caprica is going to be?

This is what it's going to be... a land-based drama series, that happens to just be set in the BSG universe, which means background dressing like starships and paper with the corners cut off.

I don't get why people are complaining that we're seeing this stuff in BSG. It fits.

Just an FYI, galacticabbs.com (galactica.com) has Screen Caps for everything BSG (old and new) and is the best source on the web for screen caps. Check it out here:

http://www.galacticabbs.com/index.php?autocom=gallery

We will also be doing Caprica screen caps when that show comes on.

Yes, but the fact remains that if they don't have zoning ordinances against huge, FTL-capable, tylium-fueled spaceships operating right next door to office buildings, then it's no wonder they were dumb enough to be beaten by Cylons.

its on the bay though, in the water, next to the city, not downtown

Right, like how coastal docks in the real world frequently dock nuclear-powered subs and aircraft carriers? Nothing different.

Nuclear powered subs don't fly, create huge amounts of terrestrial noise and vibration, or run the risk of plowing into a building.
