- That was Racetrack wasn't it? She wasn't punished for her part in the mutiny?
Adama asked all former military incarcerated to be freed if they volunteer for the mission. Then, Racetrack and Skulls have banter about how of course they would be sent into an asteroid field because of what they did, and Racetrack says "yeah well, beats sitting in a cell"
That scene was a nice call back to their past jumps...like when they found New Caprica.

For the first time, I started to think that maybe there isn't any third party pulling any strings like most of us thought. I dunno... We'll see.
There has to be a third party because how do you explain the prophecies or the visions characters have had like the one that revealed the Five to D'Anna or the one that revealed in the Occupation arc to D'Anna that Hera was alive and where to find her. And what about the head entities.
It was just a thought I had as I was watching. Maybe there really is a third party at work that we'll learn about in the last two hours. Or maybe something else is responsible for what's been going on. Something outside the box or something really mundane. I'm keeping the possibility in the back of my head. Maybe they're somehow doing something to themselves. I dunno.

Does that black hole play a part in that as some of the above posts suggest? Who knows...

The next two parts will most likely have flashbacks too which leads to the question, can this end well at all? Is it even possible to get all the answers needed?

Well, we did learn a little more about Adama's career. In addition to commanding two battlestars (Valkrye and Galactica), he commanded three escort ships as well. I wonder what he didn't want to do. Maybe have aliens appear on BSG?

How about Adama finally having a scene with his son. No, not Lee. I mean Hot Dog. First scene I think the two of them had together.

Speaking of nice scenes, I really did like the Adama/Cottle scene. Adama and Cottle haven't exactly had the Kirk/Bones relationship (they've barely shared a scene) but I thought it was nice when Adama put his hand on his shoulder and thanked him but told him the fleet needed a doctor. He was right and Cottle knew it...thus he didn't put up a scene. Besides, Cottle already has his own personal exit strategy planned out.

Lung cancer.

Who knows? Given the track record this season and last I have some doubts although a lot of the remaining questions are so interconnected that they should be able to pull it off--What happened to Starbuck and why she had to die instead of just going to Earth and coming back, the Opera House visions, HeadSix are all likely tied to the third party guiding all this. Then we need to find out why these Five were the only ones chosen to be warned of the nuclear holocaust on Earth. The fate of Adama, Roslin, Starbuck, Lee, the Cylons, humanity, Galactica.

Then again the writers have shown a very bad habit of not being able to fit the right amount of critical scenes into an episode without them being dropped or the scenes deleted.

Wow. One more episode to go. All the chess pieces in place and I'm quite confident in my inebriated state that we're going to get a finale that will be on the level of B5/Revelation, erm general happy, shiny Alice Chthulu edition, 1947.

Cause we still have: Dean Stockwell. - Need I say more.
BSG-75: The heart of her is still beating.
Starbuck: Kara frakking Thrace - Hot.
Adama: Master of the look, and all around Kirk quality badass. +Look +Corners
Cylons: More exposition. +a movie
Cylon Homeword: Give me a "the leader" and some kind of Ship of Lights (Res. Ship. 1701-STARBUCK) - Daniel giveth from surviving the lions den.
Baltar - Then end times. David Koresh or Baltar the Wise, or whut?
Head people - Technomage angels or what? A hint or three please!

Jesus! Caprica's pitty on Baltar's father was heart renching. "your father is a very complicated man, but there are a few simple things that make him happy. The last time I saw him he seemed happy,"

Loved it, but I wish it had happened after she killed the baby.

Next week is going to be gangbusters.

Maybe we'll finally find out who Caprica Six was talking too after she murdered the baby. Or maybe they're saving that for The Plan.

I really feel like its the end now.
Seeing all those pictures left behind because there was no one left who knew who they were was a really sad moment.

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x19: "Daybreak, Part I"

I was trying to explain to my lady that the Galactica was being killed over three hours, while the NCC-1701 WAS killed in 60 seconds or so in ST-III. I was younger, and fuck, I teared up in the theatre, yes I did. Killing the best ship in Starfleet, to save Spock, and having her go down as a shooting star! That was moving.

And we're heading into two solid hours of that + Cylon Colony + my Crystal Head Vodka mechinations about the Ship of Lights and Starbuck n her Daniel Daddy. Hera is going to survive, I'd bet ca$h on that. Adama is going to totally pull a Kirk, and snatch life from the jaws of death.

But it's going to be so messy. 50% answers would be fine by me. I know questions, are not yours, but answer half n I will be happy. DS9 answers 88% of my questions n I was not happy cause of what they did to the Sisko.

/Adama deserves better writing than Sisko, cause EJO just ROCKS, and ANYONE WHO IS WILLING TO JOING ME SHOULD SAY SO. so dont volenteer out of sentiment or emotion!

There is a line running down this thread. Volunteers to the starboard side. All others to the port!

I am left handed! Dear lord... I must choose Adama's side, whichever one that is. I'm not good @ this sort of this.

/Glad they saved Doc!

Re: Battlestar Galactica 4x19: "Daybreak, Part I"

There is one safe jump stop. This right here is our only jump spot. The Galactica must enter the Malestrom on last time.

The younger generation will do better, if Al doesn't decide to slice up their brains and make them all Cylon o the Korn. /Not Cool.

We have to take the 300 on the Galactica thru the hard Six, while performing aces in every way.

Only the reborn harbinger of death can lead humanity to the end of the beginning. The last Battlestar Galactica will end the cycle, and let the universe roll the hard six. 420 error. File not found.

And the SOL. The true SOL that will lead them to the home of the next Generation. A Generation that will break the Cycle.

All right Let's get to work. - The Dude Does Abide.

Man it's gonna suck when this show is over.

It was a great show. Not a perfect show, it had its share of average episodes but when it was good, it was GOOD.

I really liked this episode. The flashbacks to pre-holocaust times were surprisingly engaging ones.

I'm not worried about answers as they pretty much clearly implied that the answers to their questions all depended on them going to get Hera when they were talking the previous week. They are all interrelated anyways, what Starbuck really is, what the song means, HeadSix, and so forth, so I'm expecting one explanation rather than needing a dozen seperate 'answers'.

Purposefully avoiding reading anything here, because I'm sure someone is bound to be a cock and drop a spoiler.

Just wanted to pop in and vote 'Excellent'. It's more setup sure, but it's been built and built and now it's going to burst. I think for people who have been fans for the entire run, the emotion is there, and this episode was pretty riveting.

One more week. I better hurry on my rewatch of the series.

I very much enjoyed that. And like Yoda above me I may just be absent from here for the next week. I have one chance to see the BSG series finale unspoiled and I think I am going to take it.
