According to my sources, when the USS Voyager returns to the DQ, they encounter the Taxalian miners again - it seems that Neelix was hanged off a lamppost soon after they left, once they worked out why he wanted to move straight in with a vunerable young woman and her son. Someone checked his records and it seems that he was on the talaxian nonce jotter and had a record as long as your arm.
