Sound of Thunder....

I recently caught glimpses of this on Sci-FI Cable network. I thought it was just another cheesy, Sci-fi produced tv flick until I saw that Edward Burns was in it.

So out of curiousity, I checked some info out on the internet, and boy was I laughing, haha (and not just at the plot).

I mean the special effects in the movie were pretty bad and thought this was a straight to DVD flick. But no, wait, it did show in some movie theatres and made $1.8 million in opening weekend. IT however, cost $52 million to make. hahhaah wow, pretty bad ladies and gentlemen.

There's a much better adaptation of Bradbury's story on his own anthology TV series. Really, 22 minutes was all they needed to tell the story effectively. All the rest was unnecessary padding.

Hell, even "The Simpsons" did it better than this movie, and that was a spoof. (An excellent spoof)

Love the Bradbury short story; never bothered with the movie. Looked absolutely horrid. Sounds like it was a good call.

I remember watching this movie with a friend and cracking jokes, it was an enjoyable bad movie. I've definitely seen movies I was less entertained by, I'll give Sound of Thunder that.

I still remember a scene where Ed Burns and the female lead are walking down the sidewalk and you see the same 3 CGI cars in the background moving past them again and again and again in true Hanna-Barbera fashion which makes sense since the cars all made silly Jetson's sound effects.

I loved the short story when I read R is for Rocket. When I heard that there was a movie, the only thing I could do was laugh. I figured there's no way they could turn such a short story into a movie. Considering that, in general, I haven't heard positive reviews of that movie, I think I'm probably right there.
